        Not even software could save it. Automated removal not adequate, and I don't want to spend hours doing it manually. I ordered a brand new LP. I'm only out $11, so not horrible.

        Plastic lasts a long time, right? If they were stored without any pressure that could warp them, and in even-all-round temperature, they would be fine for ever. Possibly... safer than in your living room.
