I've been using the same interconnects since the early 2000's. Now I want to DIY. Is there any reason to go beyond than the Furutech FP126? Aug 29, 2018

I would stick with a basic OCC copper cable like neotech and neutrick connectors. Cables help out a bit but only when your system is resolving enough otherwise you're massaging a wooden leg. Get your end game amp, dac and headphones, take care of your power and only then go crazy on cables.

@fraggler. I currently have Kimber Kable PBJs, and I wanted the components to be marginally better. I’m not going to anything silver. I read a few of threads and that is where I learned about the FP126. Plan is to have fun.

@m17xr2b. I forgot about Neutrik, I like their connectors. For cable I was thinking of Dueland copper in oiled cotton.

As for current equipment. I think I'm doing pretty well with Soekris 1541-> DNA Sonnet 2 ->AZ PMx2.

I don’t know how to describe resolving power, but I feel like I’m in a better spot than when I started.I have no clue what to do about power.

2018 is a year for upgrades. A CRC to CLC power supply upgrade has been a significant improvement for my tube amp.

power supply and good grounding throughout your amp are so important.

I remember a friends cat who would only eat the center of her food dish, and then meow for more food. I feel like that cat as a consumer.

I knew a guy who had a cat that would shit on top of the litter box.

I meant this more as a reference to my reaction to the Eitr not having AES. I reminded myself of that cat.

My cat does that sometimes with breakfast. We just stir it up with dry food sometimes and that's her dinner. So weird...

Vinyl on a thrift store record player might not have the best highs or lows, but why does it have to be more engaging than my desk rig?

Purchased my first headphone amp! I should have done that 7 years ago when the HD800 was released.

As a Rando I want to share my progress in how I'm doing, but I don't think status messages are the right spot, and making a thread post doesn't seem inline with the culture. I'm hoping this space is appropriate to write in.

After nearly 7 years of owning Sennheiser HD800 I'm looking to build a new audio rig. I've made a lot of missteps in the hobby since I decided to pursue the hobby again.

Audio is hobby that is enjoyable, but it's easy to be lead astray with the emotionally invested hype that surrounds some equipment. After selling HD800, I went around the local stores.

I need to finish this blurb.
