I’m interested in the possibilities it will give me for interesting angles and perspectives without needing a ladder etc.

I would love to find a small indoor drone that has a good camera on it or would let me attach my iPhone 12 to it to take images. (Probably too heavy). iPhone 12 image quality or better would be cool.

so far researching I’ve found these 2 models but they both have drawbacks.

Ryze Tech Tello - great drone for my purposes and a good price (150$ for a kit) but the camera is only 5mp and supposedly not so great.

DJI Mini 2 - the camera seems like what I’m looking for but the drone is way overkill for indoor use. And it’s pretty expensive.

Any other options out there? This is so frickin cool!

I hope this isn't too much of a departure, but the indoor drone idea made me think of it. Have you seen this yet?

Awesome. I think my best bet would be a small drone that could hold a GoPro just like this. I’m having a hard time finding that though because all the new models have built in crappier cameras. A small drone with a GoPro 9 would take great pictures.

I still wish someone would put a Sony full frame sensor onto a small drone (because Sony sells their sensors as OEM) that would make stunning images. The new DJI Air2s just doesn't cut it when you compare image samples to full frame cameras, especially at higher iso's. There's no reason not to just buy a good Sony FF sensor and make a great photography drone.

I use this EMAX EZ Pilot for my all the time drone photography! I use the prop guards all the time, I even fly up and down the stairs!
Super durable, I have been learning inside my house and have crashed it a lot and there is not a scratch on it.

I am using a budget-friendly Emax EZ pilot, which is fascinating. The First Person View goggles allow you to see every detail of objects around. You can easily learn the basics of flying it through the Level 1 speed mode. it is really easy for beginners to learn how to control quickly. I think the best indoor drones you can find on the market are by examining some important features like flight time, speed, dimensions, and weight.

Small, indoor drone? Darn, I shoulda dropped off a Tello for you to try when I picked up the headphones today.

I have a Tello and a Spark (old mini variant). I can tell you that I think bigger than a Tello = too loud/big/scary for indoor house use personally. And anything with a phone or GoPro is going to be bigger/heavier than a Tello.

DJI is good because they they will just hover and stay still as standard. Way easier to fly than something that requires human manual hovering and constant movement. I think this is what you are looking for. Much better for concentrating on framing a certain shot. But the Tello is gimped in terms of camera gimbals and can't move the camera independent from the body angle and direction of the body while hovering horizontally. :(

Tello, BTW is only good indoors or when there is ZERO wind outside. They can't fight a breeze very well.
