did you try the custom button? or the morphing to another set of headphones? did you try the curve smoothing?

    No I didn't.
I was exploring its functionality and feature set, and since it was missing a few features that I deem important and necessary I didn't proceed any further.
I did note that the custom function and curve smoothing did allow for compensation of the curve but it didn't have adjustments that allowed me to use it to my advantage, somewhat like Sonarworks tilt and bass controls do.

So overall as a starter plugin to see if it does indeed help I can see where it would be useful.

But I now require more sophistication and flexibility than it (and sonarworks) offers.

if you dont like loading multiple plugins you could bake the whole eq stack to an ir and use a single convolution reverb

I don't understand what you mean by "bake the whole eq stack to an ir and use a single convolution reverb" but I don't mind using multiple EQ's (really only 3) to accomplish what I need.
    But thanks for the thoughts.

I've tried morphit. It's good. It has some interesting features if you read the manual and you can visually compare how different are stock tunings for different headphones; the sound is good and honestly i prefer it to the sonarworks averaged profiles for my k712. Sine sweeps also sound more smooth.

I actually also like the hd650 simulation on my akg, i wonder how close it sounds? I have read some comments on gearslutz and they say with some headphones it gets remarkably close.

    Good plugin

Recently, I have started using EQ software. Actually one of my friends suggest me to use EQ software. I thought that EQ software is not effective. But I was surprised after installing it. It has more than 20 setting of I can easily change the setting with genre of music. I am using " EqualizerPro" software. You can download it from : http://www.equalizerpro.com/

Thanks for alerting us to this. I'm trying it now and I love it. I'm using it with Stax headphones that have very little distortion but a bit of a treble peak.

I've been trying Morphit, mainly with Stax Lambda Pros, and so far I'm really impressed.

I'm especially impressed that it doesn't seem to affect accurate placement of sounds (as far as I can tell so far).

Does anyone know what Morphit does to the phase of the signal? It says it has "both frequency and phase correction", which I guess answers my question except that I'd love more detail. It SHOWS you what it's doing with frequency, but it doesn't show you what it's doing with phase, and I can't find any more detail in the documentation.

Listening Sonarworks True-Fi on and off with HD650. I think this is worth a try when you want to tweak your HP sound. It seems to be a very transparent EQ and there are real gains with this. It might depend on the track, but it seems to do its job quite well.

(P.S. Sometimes neutral is not what you want so need to be skeptical of your own biases)

I'm trying to install an eq plugin in Audivarna on a Win10 machine and don't really know what I'm doing with the install. I tried Nova EQ but it seems it's VST2 only and so not recognised. I then tried QRange. It's VST3 but doesn't come with an installer. So I extracted the files and copied them to program files/common files/VST3. Audirvana recognised them but crashes when I try to use them.

    How would I install these?

The installation directory is set by the VST3 standard. So usually just use the VST3 plugin installer and then restart Audirvana+ which should have also automatically upgraded to Audirvana 3.5.0 by now. Try SonEQFree by Sonimus or Marvel GEQ by Voxengo. You already noted the correct installation path.

When music is not playing click on the speaker icon at the bottom right of Audirvana GUI. This pulls up the menu where you set Wasapi or ASIO and your device name and playback options. Click on the arrow to the right of your device.

Scroll down to VST3 plug-ins and move the slider for "Use VST effects" to the right and your installed effect plug-ins should show up and you can configure. When you have an equalizer installed it should automatically popup when you start Audirvana. Hope this helps.

I've tried Sonarworks and Morphit, but at the end of the day if it's about personal preference manually setting up a parametric EQ works better for me.

Fabfilter Pro-Q 3 is probably the best out there, fully parametric with linear phase, frequency isolation mode, near-unlimited number of bands. When I first tried it, I couldn't believe how much better it is compared to others: easier to use, so much more intuitive, and yet more feature-rich.

Fabfilter looks awesome but wow it's pricey. Free APO is tough to beat

    I use Pro Q3 everyday.

Crave DSP might be a cheaper and yet effective alternative.
