I had such an aggressive ad too lately, when visiting SBAF. Doesn't happen all the time, but it did sometimes in the near past. Didn't have those ads on any other site, so I guess it is related to one of the random ads used here.

I use Purify on iPhone for adblocking and haven't seen that.

I have seen that exact ad, as well as others that completely hijack the browser. Scary ads that make you think "oh shit, that's a virus". I go force-stop the browser and clear cache. Next time I visit, I rush to log in so I don't see another.

Those ads don't launch when I'm signed in, only when the browser has me logged out of the SBAF site.

Happens on my ipad mini also once in a while, but not with SBAF. This problem is even mentioned on the official Apple help site.
The easiest way I have found to deal with this is to stop further loading of the page by clicking the "x" in the browser top window where the internet address is shown, than next go with the back arrow to the page before, and than go forward again. You are again on the page you wanted to read but the pop up is gone now.

Some ads can open browser tabs on their own and you notice only after a few seconds. Sometimes a click is not necessary just being on the website suffices.

For me this happened on a film stream site. It is scary how some ads can affect your browser. Almost makes you want to install the Brave browser or tighten your Ad-Block settings.

I don't use phone to go to such sites... only use smartphone to check email, check sbaf and some other website.

Let me take a look. It happens because unscrupulous advertisers write scripts against the rules of what Google Adsense or Sovrn allow. I can manually kill them if I know where they originate.

Use Chrome or Firefox, add Ad-Block and make your own settings.

I do not like browsers that limit your settings and Safari in iOS is limited.

Seems like it's better now compared to yesterday/today morning! Yesterday I caught it every single time, but since now not that often!

I blocked ads from that domain. It takes 24 hours to take full effect.

It has been several days, but I was getting a pop-up (appeared to block the browser) for winning $1000 on amazon. It also caused my phone to buzz & vibrate! I thought I picked up something on my phone. Thanks for tracking this down. I hope it was just this.

    (I use android and chrome.)
