I'm really tempted, too. Discover Price Protection rocks. I also like that you can 8% cash from Jet.com. That makes that close to $275 before any potential price match.

Wait, 8% cash from Jet.com? What does this even mean?

Edit: Looked it up. Pretty cool.

Yeah, Jet.com is not amazing. And you may need to contact them to get your funds. But they do have good deals on basic household items, toys, media, etc.

Struggling between which great deal to go with. I placed order for the HD 600. May put in a separate order for the HD 650 and then sleep on it. I live near Adorama so will just pick up in store. So, I can always return the one I don't want unopened. Ah, decisions, decisions.

Unless you're a classical fan, go for the HD650, imo. I've owned both multiple times and the classical strings are the only thing that makes me repurchase the HD600...

The connectors have already been refreshed. Recently got a HE-400i and it had the new connectors already.

Not waiting for 250. 300 does it for me. Go go HD650!

Classical is great from the HD650, especially with the purrin/Bill-P mods. The HD600 doesn't have enough thump for me on classical (though I've not heard them in years, and my system wasn't as good back then).

I think HD600 vs HD650 comes down to personal preference more than genre. I've always prefered HD600, but respected HD650. I sense that HD650 is closer to what most people would prefer, and HD600 is a little more for "purists." Ideally, listen to both before you buy either because you'll probably have a preference for one even if you could live with either.

I don't think there's a rule in favor of one or the other amongst classical buffs. HD650 does have a slightly but noticeably more filled in soundstage, which might matter if you listen primarily to large-scale orchestral music. (I suspect that the soundstage difference is a by-product of the different bass response.) HD600 is a little more neutral in the upper mids, which matters a good deal to me because I more often listen to solo piano.

They're both pretty close. HD650 sounds more neutral to me despite being slightly bassier. HD650 might have a bit more air. I do think the HD650 has an ever so slightly more refined driver. HD600 was too hot in the upper mids for me. Really stood out. However, I have no doubt some hear it the exact opposite as me and find the upper mids more neutral on the HD600. Bound to happen based on your tastes, type of music you generally listen to, shape and type of ears, age, etc. etc.

If you get the HD600 and find you want something a bit less hot up top, get the HD650 (exactly what I did). If you get the HD650 and want something with more energy up top, get the HD600. The used market has enough demand that you won't lose too much money, and you'll feel pretty confident your next purchase won't need to be sold later.

Both have mod potential. Hard to go wrong either way. Both are excellent. I wouldn't feel bad paying $500 for either save for the fact I know they go on sale for $300ish pretty regularly. (No, I didn't pay $500. Just saying they'd still be worth it then.)

Ah, perfect! I'll take temporary (read semi-permanent) custody of one of them. I hear having too many HD650s in the house can be a real handful. I'd be doing you a favor, really :)

Well, I had been debating whether to also grab the HD 650 and decide which to return (unopened that is). Missed that. At least I grabbed the HD 600 at that price while it lasted. Audeze deal is tempting though I really don't like the feel of the Fazors

The HiFiMan sale hasn't started yet but RazorDogAudio has some pre-Black Friday sales going: The promo code 2015HOLIDAY saves 20% on the items in the link below now thru Dec. 31st.

The K3003i and Sony NWZ-A17 and NW-ZX2 seem like particularly good deals, but I haven't heard them.

    http://www.razordogaudio.com/collections/holiday

    Anyone heard the NWZ-A17?
