I am looking for a small 20-30 real wpc amp or receiver to deal with my TV streaming issues with loud commercials (I need to quick mute). Must have functioning remote with Mute, haha.

Something with real binding posts might be nice and 2 channel vs AV receiver is preferred, but open to all. Pm me with anything you might have sitting around and that you may be willing to shift. Budget is closer to $100 than $200.

PM me if you have something that may fit the bill.

You can get cheap av receivers on Craigslist. I bought 3 for under $40 each

Also, since it's for TV and sound quality won't matter, you may want to look into cheap Chinese amps. Here's an example, but there are plenty of things in this category.

Funny, I use a well designed chip amp from china atm. Just no remote and mute. Perhaps I need to poke around on ebay again. Just not to crazy about smsl variability, but there may be some others. thanks

Live near frys? Shoot for a Yamaha for 200ish when they come on sale. Black Friday few weeks away too.

no frys in CO, any particular yammy? I see Yammy av stuff that they don't even quote the power down to 20hz for 200ish. But something like one of their integrateds might be decent.

Fools here on Craiglist are asking way to much for dreck with no remotes.

The secret, imo, with the cheap off the shelf receivers these days is to buy for longevity. In my findings the Yamaha stuff seems to be built to last longer than say Onkyo or Harman stuff. Not really based on sound quality or any hard data though.

I was in these shoes 4 years ago and did exactly that, got some on sale $200 yammy job that is still kicking strong today.

My brother has a cheap Pioneer that still works after 4-5 years. No idea on model but it was below €200. Might be a consideration as well.

How comfortable are you with DIY? There’s latching remote relay boards you can get for $10. Nothing else in the signal path. You could have a full solution for $30 using a cookie tin a la CMoy

I rationalized that a 2 channel dirt cheap piece had to be a bit better than a cheap or used 6 or 7 channel piece with all sorts of dsp, hdmi ports, etc. At least here, the power supply has less to feed, haha.

sure hope it can compete with my mighty chip amp and chi-fi FX-Audio DX-3 dac. (not bad with optical for $50 dac , minus my power supply.)
