What player or players are you using? Also are they the latest versions or older downloads that you had?

Thank you so much for the feedback.

    Cheers,
    Michael

P.S. we posted an update on our campaign page that some customers were having issues with the pi 3 and the 502DAC Pro. Basically either the card is not found or it simply does not play music. We tested with the newer versions of volumio, pi music box and moode audio.

I am on the latest Volumio now. But I remember fiddling with resampling and volumemixer-settings on the previous release of volumio because it didn`t work out of the box.
After some resets it just worked again and I went back to the settings I posted on here a while back. But I didn`t think it was all that unusual. Happens with other boards too. I reinstalled last week because I had search issues and the new Volumio set-up assistant just worked. No fiddling needed. So maybe people should download a fresh image and do the auto-setup as provided by volumio. It should work after that I guess.

    Hi @Michael Kelly

I missed the campaign for the 502DAC PRO sadly

When will orders be open on your website?

I know you're still busy fulfilling campaign orders for now but did you have an rough estimate?

    Cheers!

    I have 2 quick questions.
I have a 5v ipower (currently using) and a LPS going to be delivered today hopefully.

I can use both to power the 502DAC. In that case, which device should I power up first? RPI or 502DAC.

Alternately I can power both the RPI & 502DAC with the same LPS. Is this okay too?

I would recommend the single supply powering both. But if you use two, power the DAC first.

    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hi @bigbear1997 ,
If you have isolator power supply two separate sources. Normally a power is enough.

First of all thank you for your earlier reply/advice. I have same configuration only wired net. With Moode now working as standalone and as UPNP render for Audirvana+. Only short testing but seemed unstable. Need more testing. I've tried Volume also but no sound on digital out even if on Headphone output was sound. Strange. I didn't had time to test it without isolator but since the HP out has sound I don't think is the isolator fault.

Will there be any holidaydiscounts? I ask because my neighbour really wants a 502 too but he is most likely to buy from audiophonics because of the the shipping and tax thing. The difference is not that big (about 20 euros I guess). Does anyone here know if audiophonics is reliable?

Audiophonics is very reliable. They resell our 502 DAC already. And they might have some stock.

As for holiday discounts, unfortunately we won’t be back in stock on the 502DAC until after New Year’s.

That probably won’t include 502DAC Pro. We have had some challenges getting certain parts, and the overall cost of build ended up much higher than anticipated due to the lower volume. For now we are committed to going forward with the 502 DAC. This also dovetails well with our future strategy of producing standalone dac/amps. The pro was just a bit too much for the pi market it seems.

I’m sorry to disappoint you folks that have stuck with us, but at the end of the day business does rear its ugly head!

    Cheers,
    Michael

I don`t think you should be sorry. You made a really nice board with the 502DAC.
Anybody waiting for the pro should just buy the regular 502 and they will not be dissapointed.
My neighbour has a ModiMB and he borrowed the 502 to try at home. He was immediately sold on the combo.
Like me he now wonders...why USB? Why did I do it?

And thank you for the confirmation on audiophonics! I have browsed their shop alot but never pulled the trigger.
I`ll tell my neighbour to hurry becuase of the low stock.
    Thanks Michael!

Just compared my setup with the LHY Audio LPS which has one USB out and one DC out.

    1. Just only use the USB out to power both the RPI3 & 502DAC

    2. Use the USB out to power the RPI3 & DC out to power the 502DAC

#2 is slightly better but not by much over #1.

#1 is still better than just using an ipower to power both the RPI3 & 502DAC.

How did you use the ipower? To feed the 502dac and let that power the pi? Or to feed the pi usb to power the pi and the 503dac?
