    Stickers! Yay!

    Or... Maybe not

Haven't ordered anything yet. Not 100% sure what it will be, but I think @Steakface has the sensible, practical idea... better than the one I started out with. :D

The straight-man guy and him make a really good team!

I'm sure that would have been just perfect for me... but availability/cost in India threw a spanner in the works. I didn't think smaller would work, so I have ordered the bigger one in the same range. I think it will be too big... but the crazy-Indian-pricing thing that made the others too expensive somehow made the 250 quite cheap. So not much lost if it doesn't work out. A bag... can't not work for something!

    Thanks for your help

Are you taking a tripod? If so then don't bother going wider & try to shoot panoramas instead. 3 frames on a 28mm (equiv.) will be plenty. Just a thought.

Yep, tripod and a new Arca head will be used (for the first time really). In all honesty I should probably spend more time shooting with the lenses I already have instead of being so into the gear. I've really only spent any time with my 35mm F/2. I've just been seeing decent deals on Fuji lenses and been picking them up.

Thomas Heaton breaks it down better than I could but this is pretty much my favourite method. I only have two lenses & no money so using the ones I do have to their max is crucial. Check out this video...

Since I’m moving to Asia I really wanted to downsize from the full frame Nikon setup I was using in my photo business. Sold it all this week and ordered a Fuji x-t2 setup with a couple lenses and a Godox flash and trigger. Very basic setup comparatively but I think it’ll be nice to simplify.

It's huge. There is only one thing to do: buy more gear!

It's supposed to be the other way round (if you're moving to East Asia). The concentration of full frame DSLRs out here is (puzzlingly) high.

Anyone messing with film these days?

I have a roll of 110 film that's 18 years old that I haven't developed. I was a bit worried about it's age and the fact that film development isn't as common anymore. A lot of places that still do it don't even give back negatives.

After searching a bit I found thedarkroom.com. It turns out that 'found film' is really big and there's a demand for developing old film as people find these hidden treasures in old boxes. Their base package has scans that you can download but they will also send you prints along with the negatives. I sent my film in last week and I'll report back on the photos I get after processing.

I’d still be shooting film if processing for Kodachrome 64 we’re still available.

But, if I were being honest, I would say that film is an anachronism today. You can do so much more with cameras like the Nikon D850 and current processing software.

As much as I appreciate stellar photography, I have accepted that I am not the one to create it. My focus is on creating memories instead of art. As such, I focus more on grabbing short video clips and putting them together, as it is much easier and interesting to watch a 10 minute video than page through 1000's of photos when re-living or sharing my travel with friends and family. Along those lines, I wanted to point out the Zhiyun line of active stabilizers. I got one that can hold my Sony RX100MIV and it has transformed the quality of video I can take. The Sony has decent stabilization and I have gotten better at ninja walking, but the Zhiyun adds a whole level of smoothness to the shots. Instead of looking like handicam home footage, some shots can pass as professional. Downside is that it negates the tininess of the Sony and forces me to carry something even bigger than a DSLR (although it does store flat). They do have smaller ones that hold smartphones which work very well (returned the smaller one to get a bigger one). Anyways, if you do video, especially on the move, I really like them.

You're the prime target for the RX0

That looks really nice. Might have to look into getting one for my next big trip. Wish it had a slightly faster lens, though. I love what the RX100MIV can do with the 1" sensor.

I am shooting film and devloping my own B&W. I love the film process and using old gear. It might not be for everyone, but it is very satisfying having something tangible at the end. I also enjoy the limitations of the format and perfecting my development techniques more than I ever enjoyed editing on a computer.

My grandfather did B&W and he had his own darkroom. I saw somewhere that Ben Folds shoots B&W and develops his own pictures too.

I've got a decent sized collection of film bodies I'll rotate through when I've got the free time. There's just something special about firing the mechanism of an old film camera that feels oh-so-satisfying, especially on something like the RB67. I largely do commercial and studio stuff for work, so shooting with film along with more casual subject matter is always a nice change of pace for me

I'm looking to buy a new camera for this summer but so far no-one seems to make what I'm looking for. It needs to be pocketable, have at least a 1" sensor, touch-screen, fast lens & excellent high ISO performance. I keep hoping Panasonic will step up to the mark but thus far I've been unimpressed with their offerings. If anything Panasonics models offer too many 'features' for my needs. Canon came close with the G7X MkII but it's almost certainly going to be replaced by a MkIII in the not too distant future. Sony's RX is out of the question on ergonomic grounds as well as cost. Nikon aren't even in the market

He's seen around Nashville at times with his Speed Graflex. And his Sony A7.
