I'm finding this too. I'm using their included double flange but the quality doesn't seem great and already they're losing their seal at the cost of bass. Single flange included and spiral dots shelve the treble to my ears and make the sound murkier. Same with foam.

Any suggestions for aftermarket (amazon available) dual flange silicone tips?

Edit: These are more tip dependent than any IEMs I can remember.

Any update on this? Will you notify owners when available?

I don't know about any of the aftermarket tips on Amazon but these from Mee should work http://www.meeaudio.com/TS3-DF-50-BK/
I can't tell for sure if they are the widest bore of the Mee Audio duals, so maybe contact Mee Audio before ordering. They are usually quick to respond.

Just purchased these as my first pair of serious IEMs. I've been using them with the dual-flange tips and an old samsung s5 since I read somewhere its OI is around 1 and my s7 is 5.5 (yikes..not a fan of that) and I'm seriously impressed with how close these get to my desktop rig(HD650K, MCTH).. cant imagine what a proper DAP and higher-end IEMs could do. My commutes just got a lot better!

So a week or so in an I'm finding the real weakness of these is sound stage - both size and accuracy. I don't find that they ever create a stage in front of me or ever give the illusion that I'm not listening to IEMs. It's very much an in ear, almost 2D sound somewhat similar to my memory of the FIBASS. Some of that may be that they lack the last bit of treble air to provide spatial cues.

Note that the main comparison are the W900s which have a great stage - in both size and accuracy.

@CEE TEE - Do you happen to know if there will be a replacement cable available for these without having to buy the MEE adapter cable? I use the Plus at the gym and I have a feeling that the cable wont last forever. It is currently turning pretty green. I know that won't cause an issue with audio, but it will eventually breakdown.

P.S. - I have been loving these little IEM's for what they are. I'd love to see a high-end version. I'd be afraid you'd no longer be able to keep those wonderful ergonomics though?

    Hey M3NTAL,
Yes! Finally getting much closer to cables...new ones won't turn green. Green not bad for sound, I like the green on my old UE cables but I understand if you are not a fan.

For a higher-end version of Plus, what would you like to see/hear? We'd try to keep the ergos. :)

Chiming in too. Since travelling to France I haven't setup my desktop rig, so the MD Plus are my primary listening with an iPhone dongle. I switched to double flanged silicon tips since the foam has worn out.

I enjoy these far more now. The piercing highs I initially experienced are no longer there. Burn-in/wear-in is a factor for these for sure. Compared to the HEM4 I also used, they seem a little warmer.

The cable works fine, but the two prong connector has started to slip out some. Not a major issue, but it's not as secure as before. I've switched to a larger Pelican case though because getting all the cable and tips in the MD case was annoying. Also I don't like the metal on the cable since it can scratch up the IEMs in the small case.

Some things I am looking to add on to this (these are not Drop requests):

    -lightning cable
    -Bluetooth cable
-cable with plastic parts instead of metal

I would personally like there to be a little more extension in the highs. Improvements in overall clarity would be great also. As Marv mentioned in his review - separation and layering could also be improved. Maybe ease up the DF bump a little. (more in line with the Solaris rather than the Andromeda)

    Thank you for asking!

Well, I guess I intuition was telling me something. The stock cable is shorting out at the 3.5mm jack. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement cable that isn't audiophile jewelry? I just need something that fits the unique socket and doesn't have metal or wood bits all over it.

Check out @shotgunshane thread. I asked the same question recently. I went with the 64 audio cable which works fine but someone else had a recommendation for a cheaper cable on amazon.

Try null audio maybe? Their cheapest offerings are quite good

Thank you for the recommendation. The popular "brevity" is not available in 3.5mm and the next one up does have my interest, but the price after shipping and the turn-around time is a little off-putting. Really not interested in spending 1/3 the cost of my headphone just to get it working correctly again.

PM me your info, and I’ll send you my original cable (unused). I’ve only used the balanced cable with mine, so my 3.5mm cable is still new.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but about 2.5 years out from when I first got these and the right ear piece is having some trouble. The stock cable stopped working about a year ago so I used some random cable I found on amazon. I swapped the sides and tried a different cable to see if it was a cable issue or a problem with the iem itself. Sadly, no matter what I try, I can turn the right earpiece up to listening volume but when I put in the left earpiece that one is ear-blastingly loud.

I thought maybe the nozzle was plugged or something and tried to clean it out to no avail. It seems like for some reason there is increased resistance/impedance only on the right. Because if I fiddle with L-R balance I can get it to sound normal again.

    Anyone else had this problem?

I only had problems with the cable eventually shorting out due to strain on the cable. I don't believe it was at the connector or the plug/jack, but somewhere in the middle of the cable. Anytime I've had balance issues with balanced armatures, it is usually a moisture issue. Try leaving them in a box with a silica moisture absorb-er and see if anything improved.

Speaking of stock cable issues, I've noticed something. The cable still works fine, but I can see parts are turning green. Like it's oxidizing.

I have a couple other cables just in case, but I wonder if this is going to be a problem.

edit: i just saw @M3NTAL make a similar comment last year

I've been rocking a green-ing cable for several years now, no issues with connection or sound, its just looks ... sickly.
