As long as the metals are touching, wouldn't hot glue work :p

This is fantastic, thank you for doing this. I'm ordering my "coasters" today.

Thank you Schiit too, this is the kind of thing that makes this hobby fun.

Nice job @rtaylor76 of putting together the BoM project.

It's a shame several parts are in back-order status, with expected deliveries between 4 and 25 weeks out (and one out well into 2019). Time to find some spec-compatible substitutions ... which seems to be ever more necessary with such things.

    Thanks!

I tried to choose the non-industrial parts. I probably should have been more aware of the parts I was putting in the cart.

Given that, Mouser has the specs on the part, but it is still kind of a task to funnel down to what is needed to find a suitable equivalent that is in stock.

When I have time I will look at the BOM cart and see if I can find more in-stock replacements. PM if you find any and I can change it.

Things are not looking much better at Digikey (some of the same parts are out).

    edit below.

Here's a cart with alternatives to the out of stock parts from @rtaylor76 's cart:

    https://www.mouser.com/ProjectManager/ProjectDetail.aspx?AccessID=8f12ee3645

The alternate parts are the first few. Note there's a qty error on the 10uf cap (should be three not two). The sub here is 35Vdc rated which looks ok to me based on the schematic. I can't find any in stock DPAK LM317s unfortunately.

Added a D2PAK LM317 which @rtaylor76 verified is the same size. All credit to him for doing most of the work here. Cart link above is updated and all in stock at the moment.

    Octopart is your friend

Honestly I'm not in a huge rush so I can wait for Mouser/Arrow to restock. Might be able to substitute another Dpak regulator as well.

    You are correct. Thanks @sodacose!

Digikey has always been worse at number of choices as well as inventory as a whole, but I digress.

D2PAK is the same as DPAK (TO-262 (DPAK) vs. TO-263(D2PAK).

The On Semi LM317 D2PAK is in stock....same exact dimensions. LM317MABDTG, or NCV317MABDTRKG if you want the .20 less cut tape version.

This might be a good source for tubes

    https://www.piexx.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=33

Looks like they have over 9000 in stock

    Also made a spreadsheet:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pyoXTO0gbmICfTA3TpEoIj0SYxIbEOgc5sz-t1jujSk

Prices are not accurate but everything else is right. I prefer to copy and paste the part/quantity columns instead of creating a Mouser project because I can use these at digikey and Arrow and this is a bit easier to edit. Also allows me to include parts that aren't at Mouser too.

    Edit:

    I just realized I made a Dragonball Z reference.

Did you make a coaster for your coaster?

Haha! Yep, and and though they are a bit slippery on top, they actually work great for actual 'coasters'. Kudos to Schiit, cool and inexpensive fun.

Also: I've got a bunch of this thin cork, let me know through PM if you want any/how many circles, happy to send to friends/contributors, no charge.

Someone please get a big safety pin through the middle and wear these coasters as buttons...

Would painting a thin layer of clear glue on top help with the slipperiness? I was actually thinking of going your route since I already have a couple projects in the backlog already.

Coasters are here, parts ordered. Much thanks to you guys who did the mouser part legwork! Now, I just have to get a new soldering iron tip and have a go at smd soldering. I've done it once before and it's not easy.

I'll update thread with photos of parts and build process.

This is going to be fun.

Got my board today, thanks @Cspirou!

Still have to order parts. Some of the caps on the BoM were out the last time I pulled it up.
