Spikes at 2kHz and 3kHz well under -105db down. Fairly clean upward.

AC line noise at 60, 180, 360Hz, etc. All well below -110db. I wouldn't worry about it. The Modi 2 Uber with the AC brick on the wall didn't exhibit this behavior. The Topping D30 (which also uses a switcher), exhibited similar AC line noise. UPDATE: https://www.superbestaudiofriends.o...iit-modi-3-dac-measurements.6856/#post-225681

    Modi 3 1kHz Linearity
These tests have been retired by Stereophile, et. al. In the 90s, people thought they were the bees knees, telling us everything we needed to know. They don't tell us much unless there is something totally off. Besides, to do them properly, we need to have a notch filter around 1kHz. (The measurements boxes takes RMS as the level value, so if there is distortion, it gets lumped into the RMS value. Keep in mind we are measuring linearity of X signal, not distortion.) The AverLAB won't do this, but I know the AP555 does. But I will include it for the heck of it.

Interesting. I could have sworn that Schiit DACs in the past had a sharper rolloff. I might need to redo this or check some settings.

I realized I used some cheapo Chinese USB to wall adapter because I couldn't find the one Schiit provided. Here are the results with the a Belkin USB to wall adapter. No more huge AC line related spikes.

And this one is from using the computer USB (a cheap HP mini-tower) for power. Not as bad as the el-cheapo China switcher, but not as good as the Belkin.

Seems like there actually would be a measurable benefit to using a Wyrd, though likely inaudible.

From all this, I read about 0.001% THD, which is indeed what is published @ Schiit's site. It seems the new Modi offers more input options.
