Little dog turned a year old recently, just keeps getting heavier. Agh. Also yes I know this isn't a photo, begging pardon :p

No audio because I ended up cursing a blue streak and I'm planning to send this to relatives, haha.

A photo could not have done justice to that wonderful ear thing. Or the wonderful tail thing :)

(Just saw this my bad) HAHAHA his ears and tail are exceptionally floppy, yes. They're fun to play with but good luck getting away without him tackling you XD

Will admit part of the reason I've been working out again lately is self-defense. Against the dog. I was a pitbull skeptic and well aware of how dangerous they are as a breed, but my sister insisted on adopting him. He's a good boy for the most part, scared straight by the cat (who's probably the boss of the family at this point but that's to be expected) .

Pit bulls are just like any other dog breed: just as dangerous as the owner makes them. Any neglected or abused dog will behave badly.

They are usually very people-friendly, at the very least toward their family, but don't take kindly to anyone that intends to harm their family.

The only thing that makes them "more dangerous" than other dog breeds would be the ability to lock their jaws once they clamp onto something.

Your dog is super cute, looks awesome! I'm glad you didn't crop the ears and tail.

Will admit that I do tend to be rather gullible, so am susceptible to reports of how pitbulls are statistically more fatal pets than other dog breeds. I'm not doubting the numbers in that case nor am I necessarily discounting the possibility that they may have more aggressive tendencies than other breeds, but as you might've guessed he's an adorable sweetheart and he even gets along with some random people we have over to help with construction. He's pretty much a crap guard dog, haha.

Either way, we're just making sure to treat him (and all the other pets) well and play with them enough so they don't have too much energy pent up.

To keep this thread on topic, here's a shot of a grumpy old baby, around 10 years old or so. He doesn't care for me very much but he's very huggable:

    P.S.
Thanks! I still suck for the most part but I have fun taking photos and videos. Been working on getting better images, so the compliment is much appreciated :)

EDIT: Is the photo visible? I seem to be having trouble linking pics hosted on Imgur lately.

    Can't see the pic.

I think the statistics are as they are because there are more people using pit bulls as fighting dogs than any other breed.

No, it isn't. You want the direct link instead. You can get it by right clicking and selecting "Open Image in New Tab." The form is like this: https://i.imgur.com/UOgKNpz.jpg

And your doggo looks very cozy!

As someone who doesn't really know anything about fighting dogs (we're more into cockfighting here— not those kinds, ya dingus! But those too for other people), that's not something I'd taken into consideration. So it's people being evil then? Great.

And thanks @monacelli! I'll just leave my last post as is, yours is showing up just fine either way :)

Yup, that was right before bedtime, haha.

These are ours. Emma (L, 9yo) on the left is full Bernese Mountain Dog, Copper (R, 6yo), a hound mix.

They live a rough life, as you can tell.

I love Bernese Mountain Dogs. I just don't know if I can handle the slobber.

No slobber! Just incredibly soft long fur.

Wow, it's been a month since the last pet pic!

Here's a shot of one of our Snowshoe cats acting like a dog...dead asleep with his belly to the sky.

Better watch out. The other felines might take away his cat license!

New addition to the family. It's my first time living with a small dog, so that's going to be a bit of an adjustment.
