Awhile ago I sold off the last of my tubes from this family and regret it but now have a LP coming and would like something other than stock to try. My favorite tubes from this family that I used to have where Amperex USN-CEP 7308's and '75 Reflector silver shield SWGP (Rob over at HF used to call them "Holy Grail") they were good sounding tubes. Always wanted to hear some Valvo, Siemens, and Telefunken as well.

I know prices for this family of tubes has gotten just absolutely insane, so any breaks would be greatly appreciated if you have something laying around not being used and just want to help a guy out!! :)

Please contact me with any pairs you are willing to part with. Used or NOS. Looking forward to see what pops up!

Willing to cover fees/friend PP payments to SBAF Friends/Contributors.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

back in time, I had those russian "holy grail" tubes also, and after truly comparing with older NOS- they weren't holy grail. ha!
I've got a pair of matched Ediswan CV2492 that were NOS when I purchased from Upscale Audio.
put a few weeks on them back in Lyr2 days, but these have not been used in years.

believe my last FS price for these was $120 net for the pair, plus buyer pays actually shipping. ($8?)
can provide photos if interested, and i can dig them out from the closet.

    let me know, no rush.

    Hey John,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm not familiar with those tubes, what was your experience with what they sounded like... if you remember as it's been awhile. I'll do a little research on them and get back to you.

With the LP, it probably wouldn't matter as much as say a Liquid Cobalt. A lot of things will depend upon personal taste and headphones.

The question is where you want to go? Do you have the LP right now and what tubes are you running? How do you want to sound to change from this baseline? Vintage 6DJ8s are horribly expensive now. I'd hoarding mine.

How much are you wanting to spend?

I talked to Brent Jessee at audiotubes.com, gave him my sonic preference and budget (sub $100), and he hooked me up.

Ended up with a matched pair of Amperex 6DJ8 for $85.

Highly recommended for a no fuss transaction without having to worry if you're getting decent quality tubes from random sellers on ebay, etc.

The amp just arrived last night. Been listening and so far I'm really liking what I am hearing. First time giving my ears a Cavalli experience and starting to understand why people like these amps.

I probably jumped the gun trying to get some additional tubes, the stock sound good thus far. I have a pair of Siemens E88CC and Amperex 6299 PQ (hopefully USA made, had a pair of 7308 US made sometime ago and they were my favorite of the few pairs from this family of tube I had) on their way as a Friend here reached out and was generous. Going to see how they tickle my ear fancies first before spending anymore on tubes.

Going to give myself a few weeks to get used to this amp, start playing with these couple pairs of tubes, then start doing some comparisons with the Lyr 3. Of the two... THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! Planning on keeping ZDT Jr!

Thanks to everyone who made offers and gave advice.
