Native DSD makes DSD 512 version of the Sound Liaison DXD original, upsampling???

Your gear and modern software do it internally to make more room for the digital filters. Usually at 2 to 8x, dpending on the sampling rate. This is why 44.1 khz and 48khz can actually sound better than 192khz when fed into certain things. This is just digital.

This is in addition to the modulator of the modern chip running at 128x or more for 44.1 or 48khz. It will take more samples for lower sampling rates. They are far far better than the old Philips and Sony DS chips but some good products used the better philips ones.
