That would be nice, but it looks like the last time they updated Reveal was a year ago. I wonder how many of their current headphones aren’t supported.

I had the Reveal plugin that I used with jriver for the isine 20. The list of supported headphones is pretty complete with only the very latest Audeze headphones not listed (Mobius).

I think they seem interesting, but I'm really mostly concerned about them being too small for my elephant ears.

How's the headband? It is giving me Focal hardness flashbacks.

Remember getting all excited and pre-ordering the Sines...

...which now get 0% play time.

Lightweight and comfortable. And I have a notoriously large head and portable headphones like this almost never feel good on me. I only spent a brief amount of time with it but it felt better than Mobius and Sony 1000XM3.

Mobius clamped a bit too hard and lacked headband padding. So, @Bloom, does the LCD-1 address this in any way?

Or maybe it's just lighter than the Mobius, which in and of itself might help enough.

I'll have to revisit the specifics of the comfort differences in the next couple weeks when we get our demo LCD-1 in.

Mark from Audeze came by today and brought an LCD-1. Heard it briefly with the WM1A and was hovering around 90 for volume. Cable was 2m, so fairly long for something in the portable range. Dual 3.5mm so easy to use another shorter cable or to do balanced.

WM1A powered it well single ended. Tuning wise, reminded me indeed of an LCD-X with more treble extension from just a brief listen. Comfort is improved over the Mobius, the new headband vs Mobius results in a looser fit so better for longer listening. My head I would say is around medium size so big heads probably should try it first. Build was similar to Mobius, maybe sightly better, less creaking.

Talked to Mark longer much longer than I listened to the LCD-1. LCD-1 headband is made with parts from China, everything else is made in house and assembled in house. Should be getting our pair for demo next month.

I do not. I use an SDAC B at home now with the 789. At work it's the regular SDAC and Atom. I was almost beaten to death by a few of my audio friends for using a Topping product, so I discontinued use of the D50.

This headphone is indeed extemely impressive for its price point. But you already know that by my review. Also, it'll run off of a potato. My ears are too garbage to tell major differences between DACs and amps within 5 milliseconds so I'll leave the whole "scaling" thing to other members of this forum. Oratory1990 released a graph of it earlier today in his PDF database on reddit if you want to see what the raw looks like on a GRAS system, and I previously posted Audeze's own KEMAR raw FR in the description of my review. Measurebate away.

So when you say extremely impressive, are we talking more impressive than an HD6XXK at it's price point? Or are you saying it's "extremely impressive" for an Audeze under $2k?

Hating Audeze is very cool on this forum, if I remember right, so I won't take that bait of "under $2k lol at planarz". My review explains how I feel about them and I will leave it at that. The timbre is not the same but there are some advantages these have over the Senns, without having a fairly broken midrange FR like modern LCD2F has.

Good thing I've been here less than 6 months then. I'm not baiting you, I want an honest opinion for headphones that some have called HD650 killers. The HD650 being my main headphone, if the LCD1 at ~400 bucks outdo them, I'm interested.

What advantages do these have over the Senns?

I think the most important takeaway about the tuning is that this is much closer to being in the vein of Mobius running default EQ on hi res stereo mode or the Sine. It's distinctly not like an LCD2, X, 3, or 4. So if that's your kind of FR then it's worth trying.

With their compact and portable nature and easy driveability, its a shame they're not closed back instead of open. Been looking for some good sounding portable closed backs for a while now.

That was one of the very first things I made sure to relay to them, since a large number of comments on my review were simply "LCD-1C wen". They definitely need a passive Mobius, at least.

Any indication if Audeze is going to act on your suggestion?

Nope. Unless I was to become their employee there's no way to know what they're working on
