To me it's not about the private info leaking or whatever. I don't consider steam to be the good guy. I understand that the only thing companies want is our money, so I don't give in to this fanboy stuff. It's about the scummy way that Epic is going about getting these exclusivity deals. Outer worlds is a perfect example. Buying exclusivity for a Kickstarter game that was promised to be released on steam, now it won't be after the game had been fully funded. That's just bullshit. Not to mention how much better of a launcher steam is than epic. I'm voting with my wallet. I'm willing to wait a year for a game like BL3, no skin off my back. Same with RDR2, I can wait a month or two to buy it on steam. I have plenty of other games to play in the meantime.

You are absolutely right, we should vote with our wallet.
Most of us have such a big backlog anyway so wait is the smartest thing, for most situations.

That outer world thing is terrible indeed but nowadays not much surprises me/us.

Picked up AC: Odyssey today on Steam sale. I loved Origins, probably one of my favorite single player RPGs, and this one is shaping up to be just as good.

I was surprised, since many people said Odissey was as good as Origins, which is easily on the top 3 AC, but honestly i thought the story was weak. Furthermore the male character was less interesting than the female character. Hope that u like it more than me though.

I'm only a couple hours in so I can't really speak on the story. One of the best video game story's imo was the Italian renaissance period of AC with Ezio. Origins had a wonderful story as well. Even if it turns out to be a so-so story, the game itself is pretty fun.

Origins was SO good. I bought Odyssey last year and never got to it, plan to fire it up eventually.

    Personally my order would be:

1- Black flag (one of my favourite games and the only AC that i played twice. I just loved the caribbean setting and the naval theme).

2 - Brotherhood, This story line was brilliant.

3 - Origins, what a game! As you said not best story but everything else was great.

Bethesda, you dumb dirty bitch. You deliver a half finished, buggy pile of shit game: Fallout 76. You also promised that all future DLC and non-cosmetic features will be free.

Now here you are, taking the most requested features, things that people have been asking for since even before the game launched, and you are charging a f'ing MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION FEE for them?!? Infinite crafting material stash, private worlds, etc...

f**k you Bethesda. f**k you Pete Hines. f**k you Todd Howard.

This is almost enough to make me swear off Bethesda entirely, but TES6 will probably bring me crawling back.

Coming from a huge Daggerfall fan, Bethesda jumped the shark a long time ago. I'm more interested in the outer worlds than any RPG they'll make.

Gears of War 5 has been a pleasant surprise. Having played all the GOW games, the latest one one is probably the best iteration yet. After the original trilogy, they seem to have lost focus a bit. Gears of War 4 was not bad, but neither was it memorable. In GOW5 the gaming mechanics maintains the pace of the older games, bit ups the variety a lot and keeps things fresh and challenging. Characters seem believable and properly fleshed out, and the story, while simple,r engaging. Good usage of Dolby Atmos in a gaming environment.

I've been playing Outer Worlds and it's as good as the reviews say. If you liked Fallout: New Vegas this is its spiritual successor. The writing is certainly there and so is the ambient music. Color palette is exceptional too. It's also part of the Xbox Live Ultimate gamepass so you can play it on PC in addition to xbox one.

I started Red Dead Redemption 2 the day it was released for PC. Like many others worldwide, I've had nothing but problems - freezes, crashes, etc. Finally, when I wanted to start a new game, I couldn't even get through the first mission. I got very frustrated and uninstalled everything Rockstar related on my PC. Now I'm downloading again, hoping for a better experience (I had the latest nVidia drivers installed prior to my initial RDR2 d/l and install; I have an i5 4590 CPU, but 2x RTX 2070 Super cards, so I don't think the issue is my system).

Crossing fingers - 2 more hours for the download!

I completed Disco Elysium a couple of weeks ago. I like old isometric RPGs like Fallout 1&2 with good story and writing. Disco Elysium is a detective game, where you have to (try) solve a murder. Bad news is, that you are a terminal stage hobocop with a huge taste for booze and narcotics. But ultimately, you get to decide how to proceed with your task.

Disco Elysium has taken some influence from here and there. You live in an alternative timeline where technology has taken a different path and everything is a little more backwaterish. The developer ZA/UM has created a pretty unique self-reclection mechanism for the protagonist. They have also slightly deviated from the traditional RPG recipe: you can not only equip items but also thoughts! It's also very text heavy game, pretty much more that everything else I've ever played. Combat is minimal and it is also based on dialogue options.

For me, this is the game of the year. While playing Remedy's Control a couple months back, I thought it must be it with all the fancy RTX visuals and weird Twin Peaks esque atmosphere, but as they say - the pen is mightier than the sword. Very highly recommended for every RPG fan.

Never Pre-Order. Make game devs and publishers earn the money. Fallout 76 taught me the hard way. For a few years before 76 I wouldn't pre-order on principle but I "knew" Bethesda wouldn't f**k it up... Boy was I wrong. Never again, no matter how awesome the game looks or how much I love the franchise.

The first game was really good. The second looks even more intense.

I enjoyed the first Hellblade. I bet the next will be awesome with Microsoft money and technology behind it.
