    Wireless Headphone
    Qualcomm CSR8765 BT Chip
    93,5db sensivity
NEO-Ultra-Nano Diaphragm, supposedly a derivate from the Susvaras driver.

probably not hard to guess the price being rather high

Site is slow to load, but looks like a lot of hype.

Article says its going to sell in China for 1780 yuan. Based on a quick google exchange rate search, that's $250.

Since I’ve heard Fang looks at forum discussions to determine pricing, I’m going to say that I expect a headphone of such fine pedigree to retail for $100-150

Hmm, that seems a bit high, Perhaps it comes with the glass case, pedestal, and lighting for that price?

Looks nice, did they name it DEVA for "DEVAluation" once v2 version enters the market in two months?

Seems like a poor name choice if they're trying to appeal to the typical US crowd. Maybe we don't matter here?

Otherwise, I'd rename it Hifiman DAVE, charge 10x more, and pay Rafe to say it sound good. But I'm no Doctor.

LOL. Fang wisely appealing to the "not enough zeros" crowd.

Funny way of saying "10x less" (if Fang is reading)

"PERFECT! That communicates it's nearly impossible attainability! It should retail for $29.98!!!"

Edit - does anyone else get the sense that Fang hired the same marketing team as Gavin Belson?

On the DEVA subject, the wireless bit comes in form of a separate module, right?

No, it is internal, but it is held in place with hot glue.

Wow, that pointless name, I though it was going to be a $5k headphone!
Personally I don't know when should I use wireless open-back planar headphones, the noise from outside to me and the noise from the headphone to others.
But anyway, the second handed price of it would drop to half in a year in China, never mind.

Thanks. that clears a thing or two. On another forum we were told that wireless is a modular thing, but this wouldn't make much sense.

I really do not understand the point of full sized open backed Bluetooth headphones. Is there really a market for this? Why?

Like I understand using like a Porta Pro to hear around you while walking as I do that...but do people really take out full sized open back planars to walk around with? Hifiman headphones are so open you would probably deafen yourself turning up the volume to hear over external noise.

If you are just using it at home why not just used it wired, or if you must move for some reason, why not just get one of the decent bluetooth dac/amps out there and use it with your current headphones.

I feel like I am missing something.

250 is a decent price, it sounds like its using a driver similar to a Sundara, I seriously doubt they are going to sell a Susvara driver for 250 bucks. Its got the same color scheme so there is that I guess.Maybe that will be the new trend, companies releasing cheap headphones that have the same color as their high end ones and saying they are related.

One thing that annoyed me with my previous workplace setup was that I would have to roll back and forth from one end of my desk to another, depending on what hardware or servers I had to configure/set-up/deploy. An 8' cable wasn't long enough, yet was too long when sitting at my workstation, would tangle, etc.

So... There is an example of where a product like this might be perfect. I'm sure there are a bunch more. Not hard to imagine.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Hifiman and wouldn't touch this thing with a 10 foot long cattle prod (unless doing so would result in a chi-fi fire) but I think the idea of full-sized open backed wireless headphones is not a stupid idea, just a niche in the market.

There is a market for that alright. Not crazy big, but the word 'wireless' opens many doors these days.
