I'm going to go with a hernia belt, chain sled, and scream "GOOD SOUND IS GOOD" as I trudge the placement into the ideal one for my room.

    Add a pry bar.

But seriously... the engine hoist would be a good answer. I don't know the implications of adding a lifting eye, though. Maybe stick with straps

Just got some new KEF Reference 3 in preparation for moving into my own house as I got a great deal on them. Even in this small non ideal space they sound pretty fantastic!

Yeah I can imagine! I am really looking forward to giving them some more breathing room considering how great they sound already.

Interesting lift technique, with the straps over the shoulders, but surprised they don't use dollies or a pallet truck. Why take the weight when wheels can do that!

(Several flights of stairs would have made the video really interesting! But the owner of that estate would probably have had a lift. With a full-time lift-bonsai gardener.)

When my gun safe was delivered they carried it in with straps over their shoulders in a similar fashion and it weighs over 500lbs empty.

I've never seen it before. I know that, in theory, one should lift heavy weights from the knees, keeping the back straight. That looked to be what the speaker-carrying guys were doing, with those straps. Oh, it also means not depending on handholds, which is going to be a week point in heavy carrying. The guys were using their hands only for guidance and stability.

It all goes to show that I never needed to lift the rock I've been living under!

Since I spent most of my time here now working from home I wanted to put together a second smaller two channel system for listening in my workspace. It replaced the cheap Logitech 2.1 computer speakers with terrible boomy sub that I've had forever. I enjoy listening on headphones but was getting tired of doing it all the time.

I moved my Bottlehead S.E.X. amp from second/headphone amp on my main system to my desk, moved the Crack back to the main system, and bought a cheap set of Klipsch R-51M bookshelf speakers and cheap speaker stands because I didn't want to spend a lot of money. At this distance the S.E.X. amp has more than enough power to get way too loud, and I keep the volume pretty low anyways. The Klipsch speakers are a little bright, but imaging is solid and it sounds pretty good for what it is and what they cost.

Could look better, but there is an overbuilt Soekris R2R in this scrap bin case.

They look amazing on paper. I think their biggest obstacle is lack of dealer network and they’re made in Taiwan. Most people want to listen to $15k-$20k speakers before pulling the trigger. That requires dealer demo or preferably in-house audition. Big audio shows rarely tell the whole picture. I don’t know a single dealer who sells them. Looks like this they have 1 small dealer/ distributor in the USA in Southern California. That’s not a deal breaker but an impedement.

Taiwan produces some fantastic quality things nowadays including electronics and machine tools. But they suffer from their former reputation and from being neighbors to China, which currently has a terrible reputation for dubious quality and poor business ethics. All of which limits their appeal outside of SE Asia.

They sure do look pretty though. Glad they sound as good as they look.

They seem to come up within my local used market semi-often, but always older SKU's. Looks like prior dealers had seeded the product for a time but have since stopped distribution, as you alluded to. The 6381's I owned had a 2005 warranty card from a Texas distributor formerly named "Thee High End".

So, it's a maybe forgotten or niche brand for any number of reasons, but I've been extremely impressed for how far my money has gone with the two models I've been able to own.

Finally got my Rockna Signature in, testing 404LE meme from nc400 and srd7Pro - still due for room and speaker upgrades but this year hasn't been easy for anyone.
    Happy listening!
