    My wife just sent me this while I was enjoying a Belgian and cooking on the BGE. She typed, “Why am I inside, when he is outside?”

    Of course I came in and got him. 13 years strong. 14 in December.

    Currently I’ve got a couple reef aquariums, but the main pet is my cat. Got her from a shelter after 2 separate people brought her back because she had a birth defect causing her right eye to permanently remain shut (and she’s blind in that eye, which caused infections and other issues.) She also has a right lower canine tooth (I think that’s what it is) which is bucked out and is always visible. She was really mellow and sweet so I finally adopted her. Her balance & depth perception are absolutely horrendous, so I often tell her she’s a terrible cat, but a nice pet.

    Took her to my vet right after adoption, and ended up getting a couple surgeries that have solved her eye problem. Vet estimated she’s only a year old at the time. (2.5 now.) She can now open & close it nearly normally, and hasn’t had an issue in the 1.5 years since. But the eye itself looks odd. The vet said all of her issues were likely a combination of birth defects and abuse. She used the words, “I think someone really hurt her, broke her face, when she was young.” Which made me want to hunt down whoever did that and use a shovel to make their face look like a pug...
