    @netforce's waifu confirmed.

    How wide is your desk?

Edit: I also noticed that @LetMeBeFrank has a Lee Iaccoca Chrysler fetish. Funny thing is you really don't see K-Cars on the road anymore, or really any Ford Taurus 80s era. Yet I still see some 80s Hondas and Toyotas.

Chrysler is part of my family. My grandmother was the first female executive for Chrysler and my grandfather was a lead engineer. My father just retired from Chrysler in January. My grandmother was actually good friends with Lee Iacocca.

Also I see quite a few k-cars on the road here in Michigan, but I also see more Chrysler/GM/Ford here than anything else so it makes sense.

I can believe it. The closest thing to Chrysler for me was working for the old Chrysler Financial company that is based in Farmington Hills. I joined them before their name was changed, since they were brought out. I saw the leftovers of 2008 Rams, Durango, etc selling like crap at auction. Oh well.....

Yeah it's the blue compass. I was between it or the rode and got the blue. Works well, has some quirks about it but otherwise I kinda like the look little more than the rode.

Only thing that happened the first day I got it was, it has a sticker that says it can only bend one way. I proceeded to take it off in an act of hubris only to accidentally turn it the wrong way and broke it. Sweatwater was super dope though and sent me an advance replacement overnight so it worked out. I left the sticker on it this time.

Ive been unpacking since yesterday afternoon, the struggle is real. But! I finally got the desk/PC setup and the networking all finished. Spent like an hour on cable management under the desk. And the first speedtest from the desktop at the new place, gotta say, Google Fiber aint bad

thanks to this thread I can confirm I'm slumming it with a shitty gov't issued 11" laptop monitor to try and do layout spreads in InDesign... Luckily, I have a USB mouse (no BT for IT security purposes!) to make scrolling and zooming much more efficient. </s>

I'd post pics, but it's against the rules.

Not as bad as me @yotacowboy, transition to work from home meant creating a workspace out of what is used as a general dump zone and odd project space but I had been using it in the evenings more - so not too much to do : just cleared out a ton of "crafting" bits and made it a space that I could spend a few hours a time at.

the key things are there - massive class A amp, Pi - Moode player , a selection of vintage headphones and should the urge strike, a guitar to take my mind off the crazy that this all is.

Spkrs are Omega Compact Alnico Monitors in a custom - narrower, taller - enclosure Louis worked out for me so as to contain desk footprint.

The best use of an Af is to turn it into an elaborate pc speaker system

Finally did some cable management improvements. Put HDMI Audio > SDPIF Out + HDMI Switchbox below my desk. Airist R-2R DAC and Magni 3+ below the monitor. Hard to see but Schiit Eitr is below the monitor.

I like your pen(is). May I ask what model it is? I’ve got a thing for pens and wood.

And, I share that lamp. It’s really served me well so far. I use it for a reading light on my headboard. Much more flexible than my previous simple old fashioned lamp. I keep wondering if I’d like a fixture with a Hue that I could fine tune, more. But, I like the lamp enough that I’ll probably hang onto it until I or my cat inevitably break it.

I keep mentioning wood. I’m gonna be known as the woodie guy...

I do have a Pilot fountain model, the cheaper one that is solid, medium nib.

This is the $70 lap I got from Amazon and it is quite nice. I think the lap might not be best for a desk but honestly it is working great and gives me plenty of light.

Anyone have a recommendation for a deep desktop to use 48inch tv as a monitor?

Here is my setup. I think I am getting Google Photo links to work properly, we will see if/how long they last.

So IKEA butchblock counter tops for a corner desk, Red Oak stain, 3 coats of poly. 3/4 ply for legs and a box at the "V". Poorish jobs on the drawers with IKEA closeout kitchen drawers, my first attempt winging it on the width, since then I have done much better after finding the right interior dimension and working more carefully. Yeah, some gaps here and there, and the angle cuts on the shelf are pre Dual Beveled Miter Saw, so some really suck. But I made it.

Some butcher block was long cut into thirds for the shelves.

Underneath there are shelves near the outlets so power runs through the desktop for the most part.

Cable runs, 3.5"? holesaw and some nice copper covers I found on Ebay. Yes, that is a ridiculously short (1m) Pangea I picked up used for $25 going into my Freya+, just because I wanted to try one. Now I need to care and start A-B testing it.

Those shelving units you have are really impressive, very nice. I also need to figure out like what you did with under the table to have a shelf for the cables. That looks better and easier to use than the Signum tray I got! Very nice!
