    Hi all,

I just built the PI2AES and plugged it into my Yggdrasil. Volumio from my MS Surface connects with the unit (wireless), says it is playing the music. Red and green lights are on (power to both RP and PI2). Running RCA to Yggdrasil and have that input selected. The Yggdrasil is not getting data into it (there is a light that indicates the quality of data input). Allo Digi One is Volumio Output device, DAC model. Not sure where else to look.

It *seems* like everything is in order, but no sound!

Any suggestions? I am not the most tech savvy guy so if the answer is pretty detailed tech, please assume I am an idiot.

    Thx,

    Chuck

Interesting, thanks! Yeah, it doesn't look like the connector goes in all the way. I will see if i still have optical or bnc cable lying around. If not, I'll get some.

Nope. Rats. I plugged in a different RCA that fit well. Still no sound. And tested that RCA on CD player, worked fine...

Try to eliminate variables. Are you saying CD player to Yggdrasil works via RCA?

Use a file on USB stick instead of Qobuz.
Try AES output if you have an XLR cable around.

Why did you mention Allo Digi One? Are you using the wrong driver?

@Scott Kramer has it - try HifiBerry Digi+ Pro for both Output Device & DAC Model.

Thanks guys, I just saw these after a long day of slowly narrowing it down. I had a toslink lying around. That didn't work. I actually moode but its doc was hard to follow, so i erased the SD card, used volumio's guide (which had me unzip the file, which I hadn't done before) before copying the image. And... after some aggravation, it works. With the Allo as the output as per the dummys guide example. Anyway, it works. Whew. 15 hrs later. But I kinda knew there would be some frustration in this... And both inputs work, the rca and the toslink. Think I'll get a good xlr cable now that it works!!

For the record, I preferred the RCA and BNC outputs on the PI2AES more than the AES output.
