    For context, this goes back years to Changstar where some dude asked for recommendations for the musical genre of "beautiful female vocal".

    I believe the response was something along the lines of WTF are you talking about, I didn't know there was such a genre.

    Mixed in somewhere might be Asian tastes for IEMs that emphasize 2kHz+ up the wazoo, probably a result of hearing damage from too much IEM use at a young age.

    And random ads for Chinese mail order brides - which is very much an audiophile thing (seriously, it really is, I know people).

    Funny thing is, and I'm speaking as someone who listens to a crap ton of Japanese anime OSTs with sharp vocals, you'd expect that people would prefer a recession in upper mids area to tame the shrillness that can often be present on MANY of these recordings. Nope, instead you get ADX5000 with 3 kilo-hurts emphasis and many other IEMs with similar accentuation. Those are great headphones, I kinda prefer the Audio-Technicas to HD800 based on extended demo, but I'd like it a heck of a lot more if not for that bit and the upper treble shimmer.

    Oh crud right, the shimmer region too. As if JPop doesn't have way too much to begin with already
