Looking for one of the 1:1 ISO-MAX, thought what I wanted was the PO-2xr but as someone just pointed out to me, I might actually want the PI-2XR. I've read a few different things on here and around the interwebs about the 1:1 sounds better than the 4:1 like PC-2XR.

From Jensen's site the PC-2XR is a "pro-to-consumer isolator", PO-2XR is "two channel output ground isolator", and PI-2XR is "two channel line input isolator".

My use will be for converting the balanced output from Gungnir Multibit A1 to a rca for use with SE amps. Willing to admit I'm an idiot... but which one is actually what I want to be using while remaining 1:1 on the transformers? :)

Any advice / experience is greatly appreciated!

And finally...If by chance anyone has one laying around collecting dust please PM me!

Was going to purchase new but finding one right now is difficult with Jensen saying covid is causing stock issues and they are only available for customer support not sales at the moment, also there seem to be none in stock anywhere else online I've found yet.... YET!

Also considering having a friend help me build one with cinemags following Marv's helpful thread but my friend is busy and this could be a faster route. Would love to have one by the time my SW51+ shows up in the next month or so.

    Thanks!

I don't really need the extra EMI rejection, and just want the one that most people agree sounds the best of the bunch... just updated original post also...

My read (maybe others think differently) of the datasheets is that the differences in linearity is quite small, so all else being equal the two should sound very similar. If anyone has done a direct subjective comparison here or elsewhere I would be interested! I went with the PI-2xr because it was available, and I am satisfied (but then, I have not directly compared). FYI, YMMV, etc.

@Scott Kramer I was just reading through that thread again. I see in one of your photos the one you have is the slightly older DM2-2XR model. I was planning on doing more research to see if the DM2-2XR and newer PO-2XR use the same transformers. (Not just that they are 1:1, I'm sure they are. Curious to see if they are perhaps a newer model in the PO-2XR)

From what I gathered in that thread both the PO-2XR (or older DM2-2XR) and the PI-2XR use 1:1 but the PI has better EMI rejection (which I don't need) and the PO seems to be a little more transparent / sounds a little better over all? Probably not a HUGE difference though?

Looks like the site Cable Solutions has the PO-2XR available to order from their site but also has a DM2-2XR on ebay new. Basically the same price.

Thanks for the info Scott, as always much appreciated!

Edit: Also wondering if the input impedance difference from the PI-2XR (Min 22k Typical: 23.5k Max 25k) and PO-2XR (Min 670 Typical 680 Max 690) will matter with the Gungnir MB A1?

It says "also known as PO-2XR" on the receipt (see post #20 pic in the thread) --> do you think/know there's a new version?

I'm kinda useless for any comparisons (well, Yggdrasil is stifled without it), first one I've ever had--> that's the legwork I did researching it.

Yeah if you now look on Jensen's site is listed as PO-2XR, and a few different places I saw them talked about being sold it would say something along the lines of PO-2XR formerly known as DM2-2XR...

Right towards the top of the Cable Solutions page:
    Jensen Transformers PO-2XX
ISO-MAX Stereo Audio Line Output Isolator 1 to 1 Ratio (Formerly DM2-2XX)

    https://www.cs1.net/products/jensen_transformers/PO-2XX.htm

That says **2XX but that is the base model and how the Jensen and other sites group the various versions. **-2xx, **2XR, etc.

Doesn't seem like there are any big differences I can tell yet, just seems like they changed their model naming scheme for one reason or another?

Ooooh, I did not know of this difference. That means the PO-2xr is designed for typical Pro outputs, whereas the PI-2xr is designed for typical consumer loads if I am not mistaken. The Gungnir presents a consumer load does it not?

^good point... the Yggdrasil a2 is 600ohm and OK with it. Not sure on the Gun.

Yeah that is what I was worried about and was hoping someone more knowledgeable would chime in, I have Gungnir Multibit A1. I know Yggdrasil A2 was capable of handling the 600ohm load, but not sure about the Gungnir Multibit A2 much less the Gungnir Multibit A1.

Now that I have been reading that the Gungnir Multibit A2 has possibly been silently revised again (based on a few sbaf friends ears) and is not as cold sounding as the initial Gungnir Multibit A2 reports I have considered upgrading for the new analog output stage but also unison. (even though I have no issues with Lynx E22) At the same time it's more than likely wise to just wait and see what happens with new Schiit this year... Who knows maybe there will be a Gungnir Multibit 2?
