WTB/IC AMB Laboratories Beta 22 amp and Gamma 3 dac

Howdy Everyone,

After playing around with the Headamp Gilmore Lite v2, it kinda led me down the Dynalo/Gilmore family of amps especially balanced. The only real issue is obviously availability. Choice between Headamp and mjolnir audio, or DIY. So just poking around. The AMB Labs Balanced Beta 22 caught my interest but I would be interested in any balanced Dynalo/Gilmore.

Then while at AMB Lab site, the Gamma 3 looked interesting.

I see someone is selling dynalo/dynahi on head-fi.

 

Yeah but they are located in Singapore and trying to avoid buying it internationally and for same price I could commision a new Beta 22 with Sigma 22 from a reputable builder. Also if I want to go the Dynahi route there is one on ebay for $1400.

 

Yeah, if I can do diy, I will buy beta22 kit from eBay that will save a lot.

 

That ebay dynahi is 220v, sold by usa seller. More power to you, AMB Amps on second hand market are rare as hens teeth nowadays.

 

Indeed. I will probably end up just having one commissioned (been in contact with one to figure out BOE) but never hurts throwing a line out to see whats out there. And now seems like a good time.

 

I got PCBs for a Dynalo SS. I could build it for you but it would take awhile as I am prioritizing a lot of other things first right now.

Also I'm in France so be aware of the shipping.

 

Also a member here built a Gamma3 awhile back. Don't know if he still has it, but who knows?

Found a Gamma3. But still on the hunt for a Beta 22.

 

Those Dynalo/Dynahi on HF were mine and it's totally understandable you don't want to deal with shipping from overseas. Shipping cost has been increasing significantly and I had to swallow the difference a lot.

Good luck with the hunt for B22, it is still a top-tier amp but sadly has been losing the status in the last few years. Probably stop by AMB's forum to look for it?

 

Pretty amazing you sourced a gamma3. Congrats! I'm not very DAC curious these days but I've always wanted one of those.

 

I have a half built b22 and s22 that I got in kit form from glassjar years ago. It's honestly been sitting in a drawer for ages. I have three boards. Never tested. If there's any interest, I'd sell for cheap, or fuzzy trade, or whatever.
