I am going to guess that all you people here who have at least a passing interest in dress shoes might also have at least a little interest in your clothing too.

The link below is to a website managed by Simon Crompton - he is the reference for mainly British and European menswear - not fashion, but style - and if SBAF is the high water mark of audio forums then his website is that for men's style. All his articles are supported by readers' comments - a lot of information can be gleaned from these alone.

His readership is large and is, in fact, mainly American in spite of him living in London. A lot of the great British and Italian tailors have trunk shows in the large US cities - if tailoring, cloths, wools, yarns, shoes, coats, shirts and everything else is your thing you should check it out.

Following his trails around London I can pop out the door and go from Drake's on Savile Row, to Clifford Street's Anderson & Sheppard's Haberdashery, to Connolly across the road (suppliers of Rolls Royce's interior leathers and the upholstery for numerous parliaments around the world), who have in stock a linen Giubbino jacket worn by Daniel Craig in the latest James Bond film (£460). Just up the street is London's only headphone shop Spiritland: https://spiritland.com/location/spiritland-mayfair-headphone-bar/

He has an extensive set of articles on shoes - I can tell you as a Londoner that Alden is held in particularly high esteem over here - I am sourcing my first pair but with the extra tax on leather goods from the US they cost a fortune ($780 rising to over $1,100).

I hope this doesn't all sound conceited - my favourite shoes (if they're shoes) are a pair of totally beat up white Converse All Stars.

    Anyway, hope you enjoy: https://www.permanentstyle.com

while Permanent Style is known and respected, a more direct comparison, that is, the SBAF of menswear, is https://styleforum.net/

I like different styles of shoes. Sometimes I prefer to wear classic models, sometimes sporty ones. A lot depends on my mood, destination, and how I dress. Most of the time, I still prefer sneakers. For me, these are the most comfortable and practical shoes. But in summer I only wear sneakers in the evenings. During the day I prefer to wear sandals or flip-flops. This summer, I plan to wear a gimp suit from the new collection. This model is very trendy right now. Its relevance is that it fits almost any image and complements it nicely. I hope to buy this model in several colors.

I'm not a fan of dress shoes, I prefer to wear sneakers, I even wore sneakers at my own wedding=) Regular shoes aren`t for me, because I have bunions, so I'm always looking for shoes that at least wouldn`t make me uncomfortable. I always buy shoes that don't stiffen or chafe my foot. Fortunately, it`s not difficult to find, if anyone is interested, I can leave this store here.(mod edit: link removed)

I never particularly liked dress shoes cause without exception they all rubbed my feet, whether they were the cheapest or good expensive brands. Has anyone else experienced this problem? So I stick to sneakers and slip-ons.

Don think I have every posted any of my dress shoes.

Most of my dress stuff is Magnanni.

I mostly wear Alden dress shoes. Been buying them for awhile, sadly their quality has gone down a bit over the years and the prices have gone up. But they are still the best.
