FS: ZMF Verite, Auteur & Aeolus in African Blackwood with Silver Grilles & Rods

I know I will regret doing this, but I am offering for sale my collection of open-back ZMF headphones in African Blackwood with silver grilles and rods.

This is one of the hardest, rarest, and most beautiful woods that is available from ZMF. African Blackwood also has outstanding sound characteristics that it conveys to the headphones.



ZMF’s website describes the sound profile of African Blackwood as follows: “Smooth. Quick/fast transients. A dark resolving sound with OOMPH. Most sub-woofer effect of the three, with great detail retrieval and very "black" background.”

Also, this is the only Verite that I have ever seen with African Blackwood; as far as I know, this wood has never broadly offered as an LTD wood for this headphone by ZMF. This appears to have been a one-off that was made by Zach.

I am the second owner for each of these headphones. Here is what I purchased them for:
Verite: $2,300
Auteur: $1,650
Aeolus: $1,599 (has magnesium chasis)

Here is what I am selling them for (net of shipping):

I’ll also accept $4,750 for all three headphones if purchased together by a single buyer. (UPDATE: Package deal no longer available.)

I am also selling a 10 foot ZMF 2k Copper cable (4-pin XLR termination, Eidolic plug) and matching 4-pin XLR to 1/4” adapter. I bought these new from ZMF, and I paid $925 for the cable and adapter. I am selling the cable and adapter for $400. (UPDATE: SOLD!)

If a single buyer purchases all three headphones and the cable/adapter, I will set a $4,995 price for the whole package. (UPDATE: Package deal no longer available.)

My preference is to sell to Friends or known Contributors in the continental US, but I will certainly entertain offers from abroad. I will eat any PayPal fees.

Beautiful headphones. I'm admittedly looking for a Verite myself, though I don't think I'm willing to pay the "Blackwood Tax", however well-deserved it might be! Good luck with sale. Out of curiosity, why are you parting with them?

I am selling because I have totally fallen in love with the sound of the Utopia paired with the Stellaris. Everything else is just not getting used nearly enough.

My plan is to take the proceeds from this sale and buy my wife something pretty.

 

Hot dang, blackwood Auteurs are my favorite, haven't heard anything I like better. I bet the Verite and Aeolus are top notch as well. GLWS!

IIRC, Zach has either stated or at least suggested that he wouldn't be doing Blackwood any more. So these might soon be unicorns.

Someone please buy Verite & Aeolus before my gottahavitis strikes.

If I did not already have a wenge Auteur on the way I would be all over these. I am super curious what a blackwood Aeolus sounds like as well, I am sure they all sound great.

 

I have a cocobolo Auteur and I'm having a hard time controlling my lust when looking at the Blackwood VO...

 

Super beautiful headphones. I'd pick up the Blackwood VO unless I already treasure another ltd VO standing by me now. Hope all of them to find good homes soon.

I grabbed the beautiful cable for my newly attained Auteurs. I tried the ZMF OFC cable but still a little too ridged for my tastes... nothing like a nicely pliable cable especially when they are longer.
