Well he was the one who invited them in. maybe he is planning to have a backyard cookout on the White House lawn after they all leave the Capitol.

    With you 100%.

Somebody was shot in our capitol building today. Most of the shit thats been going on lately hasn't phased me much, but the sheer f'ing principle of that fills my very soul with pain and anger. Not my America. That is one hell of a line to cross. I dont care how or why.

Just wait for nightfall. This is not going to be good.

and the media will use this to paint all conservatives as nutjobs (no need to give them more ammo). Don't these idiots realize they are playing right into the media/progressive's hands?

What alarms me most about this and the unrest over the summer is the devaluation of the idea of truth. Where's the evidence that the election was stolen from Trump? Where's the evidence George Floyd was killed because of racism? In both cases, that doesn't matter.

We're truly living in a post modern, post truth era. It's frightening.

This is really embarrassing to our country. You may not like how people voted but you don't storm the Capitol Hill because of it. Then to have someone shot as well.

The President tweet to calm the crowd down was a laughable half ass attempt. It's him saying to stand down even though the "Election was stolen". You don't put out the fire by dousing it with kerosene. Well if Trump supporters didn't want to hand this country over to the Democrats for years this is funny way of doing it. I'm really appalled.

Some on the right are saying that since Trump incited a mob to disrupt/attack the legislative branch, the House should call an emergency session, pass a new article on to the senate, and McConnell should lead the effort to remove Trump from office in the next few days. This is an overreaction I think, and McConnell does not have it in him, but I can't say it would bother me if it happens.

I don't think it's an overreaction in light of current events. It is the least that can be done. Shit got real today.

The police opened the gates... https://twitter.com/i/status/1346920924310867968
Seems like even if intelligence knew (how could they not given Trump's tweets over the last several days), at least some of security was complicit in the complete breakdown.

Honestly, the way that ended kind of sounds like what should happen here. Send the people that were overtly trying to stop the transition of power of a democratic, constitutional government to jail for a couple years, and then have a president of the opposing political persuasion pardon them to bring the country together. There's a reason even people who commit fairly heinous political crimes often are often pardoned by the government...a democracy can't exist for long that has significant political bias (or even the appearance of it) in who it prosecutes for political crimes (students of Weimar history know this).

It's also one of the reasons why I don't really think it would be particularly wise for democrats to prosecute Trump after he leaves office, even if one thinks his actions constitute criminal behavior.

You guys don't have to worry about the crazy fun time for too much longer. After Trump is in FL, his crazyness will be a major part of the FL GOP for years to come. After all, he is still very popular here and he will be the godfather of FL politics.

These cops answer to Congress, not the President. With the way things are going with the GA runoffs, there will be hell to pay. Sund may not only lose his job, but be publicly embarrassed through public inquiries and meetings. This is police malfeasance if not incompetence.

Hahahahaha. Only one problem, while Trump got the 30 year old requirement to run for FL Gov, he hasn't been a perma FL resident for seven years (which is the requirement in FL). At that point he might just golf until he is dead.

However, I can already see $50,000+ fundraising dinners at his resorts. :punk:

I have no doubt Trump's unwillingness to concede and boorish tactics contributed to the D wins in the Senate runoffs in GA.

Today's actions by these nutjobs will definitely be gifts to Team Biden.

Best not to martyr him. Just leave him be and pay him no attention. Any time the news pays attention, even negative attention, Trump uses it in reverse as if we were the anti-christ. He is a demon who feeds on this type of energy.

Leave him be. His powers come from conflict, discord, and negative attention. Without notice, he becomes powerless.

Imagine if CNN completely ignored him for a week? He would melt into a puddle of black Star Trek goo. He would not be able to stand the emptiness!

And seriously, if I owned Twitter, I'd make his account disappear for this month, regardless of the consequences. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.

^This. This is exactly what the left has failed to get all along. Love or hate is all the same to Trump. It is indifference that he can't stand.

It's been massively profitable for the media not to get it.

Of course. That is the corollary to "There is no such thing as bad publicity." Most of the media prays for natural disasters too.
