I'm concerned about being Grado'd out (really is Hemp all that different from HF-3, RS-2, SR-225 with flat pads?) However, please state if you are interested for the Hemp as a loaner. Want to make sure a loaner is worthwhile. I also think we should revisit DT880-250 or DT880-600 possibly with Solderdude's adapters. I can make them and provide them. Another would be a T50RP / T60RP tutorial how to get the LFF Paradox sound.

I may do a Patreon thing like ASR to get more funds in to make things more interesting.

That's what I am wondering, too. My gut says at best subtle difference (betting much smaller difference than hd650-660 delta). It does sound quite different from vintages from the memory, but so do e-drivers (as hinted by measurements). I digress.

By the way, I originally planned to offer a short loaner to Chacha once I get bored with my Hemp (it would eventually happen months later). Maybe I can expand the original plan and make it a small and limited tour. I am highly unsure whether LTD Grado is resellable outside sbaf.

Never heard a Grado, so I would be game for a Hemp loaner. That said, I'm not sure I'm pumped about spending over $400 on any Grado. If you can get an HD 600 or JVC HA-FD01 for < $400, then why pay a premium for a Grado? How close can you get to the HF-3/RS-2 level while keeping the all-in price (pads, whatever) under $400? I've also always been curious about the DT880-600, so I think that's also a good < $400 loaner option. The super custom eq/filter solutions (e.g., built into an amp, or in-line filters) don't get my juices flowing. Maybe include a Loki with the DT880-600 loaner instead?

Interested in that. So many T_0RP mod variants out there, so little time to try them all...

I'd be interested in the hemp.

Also, I have a beyerdynmaic DT770 I don't use if there are good mods for it that someone wants to do, then use as a loaner.

Bumping this suggestion up. There's a great promotion going on through end of the calendar year ($1,000 off for existing owners of certain Focal headphones). @Bloom, any open box or demo units in the shop? Anyone with other contacts with Focal dealers that might be amenable to a loaner?

Most definitely if you wouldn't mind arranging this. Lots of folks have been asking me of this.

Send a PM to @ChaChaRealSmooth and me.

Remember Focal is French. Needs an extra e.

This is the main loaner ideas thread now: https://www.patreon.com/posts/46494271

@ChaChaRealSmooth and I are working a few angles. Lots of good ideas here. I found out the Patreon money is tied up for another few days (6 months before release).

Tried to get Abyss Diana V2, but they told us no this second time around - I kind of wanted to disprove ASR - and also I had AB1266 once upon a time which I rather liked and only sold because of the ergo. First time around, they told @ChaChaRealSmooth that SBAF members' upstream gear was too shitty for such grand headphones such as Abyss. LOL.

Vesper pads for ESP950 will be coming in. Probably will not have time until I unpack everything in a month. I have another pi2AES with 7" screen for loaner. Looking at Decware or Quicksilver HPAs as possibilities right now. Someone mentioned LSA headphones. Evidently LSA doesn't get sufficient stock, so we are going directly to Kennerton. Would love to get Kennerton stuff in - we used to at Changstar. Kennerton has been super responsive and I would love to work with them again. A line transformer for XLR to SE conversion using Cinemags can be done.

Just closed on the house sale in CA. New place still under construction. In theory, it should be done on Feb 5, but that is the day of our inspection / walkthrough... Thanks for holding on tight. These things are going slower than I would like - not to mention that my temporary digs is extremely uncomfortable because of its small size, so hard to be as productive as I used to be.

Again, we only have limited funds, so trying to be smart about it, looking for discounts or accomodations where we can.

Wow! Definitely a red flag if they refuse to send out a loaner unit. Dumbest excuse I've ever heard.

They hold your money for 6 months???? WTF!

Tempted to pull my patreon and just donate manually. 6 mths free use of the money is ridiculous.

Might be on the expensive side but I've been curious about Spirit Torino headphones for awhile. I would definitely like to know what members think about them. Headamp is a dealer and they seem to have a major discount on some open box ones.

Another I have seen around are Ollo headphones. I saw some measurements that show FR is all over the place, however distortion is very low. Could be a great headphone with mods

edit: oops. Missed purr1n's patreon link

I've been looking at the Quicksilver HPA recently. I'd be interested to know what the senior members here at SBAF think about it. Not much info out there on the Web.

Reposting to both threads, for maximum clarity.

Something reasonable. Something like maybe Golden Schlong ? Particularly a sw51+.
