wanted: subwoofer amp

hello. I'm looking for a subwoofer amp. A plate amp on a old subwoofer would be great, or even jsut a powerful mono amp (I can add a MiniDSP). For a plate amp, I would prefer one that has line level input/output, and even better, high level input/output (those look like speaker taps).

So, if you have an old sub that might have a blown speaker, of you just don't use anymore, I would very much appreciate the plate amp. I will, of course, pay for shipping.

I wish there was more to read about sub amps here! I use Monoprice SWA400 at home for my passive 15" subs. Never had an issue with it. I need to keep mine but they are fairly inexpensive new if you'd consider it, seems like it has the I/O to work well for your rig. I haven't heard other dedicated sub amps to compare but don't find it lacking in any way and have a satisfying blend with my mains.

 

Thanks @E_Schaaf . Parts Express has a few as well. Similar price to Monoprice (maybe a little pricier), but better binding posts.

I'd probably just get the Dayton SPA250 plate amp, and build a nice wood box.

PW also has a 300W@4Ohms Bash plate amp, but I have heard bad things about the reliability of Bash amps.

Alternatively, a mono amp and a MiniDSP ($100). This is my first choice.

I’m using one powering an ultimax 18 in the flat pack and the amp just sits on the shelf.

If I were to spend that much, I’d just upgrade my sb13 ultra and use the amp from it. I’m trying to go low budget here
