I'm looking to make a box that switches my dac between direct from dac to speakers and dac into two transformers to a single ended connection for my headphone amp. Problem is i don't know what to use other than Goldpoint, namely the 4P-2T-1D but since i'm overseas there might be alternatives i have not heard of.

Can anyone recommend any brands of similar quality possibly easier available here?

Elma switches are amazing quality and come from Europe already. I believe they are better than the goldpoints. I had a switcher made with them and just the feeling of the switch is sooo nice.

Nice, found an elma which is easily available. Time to think about a design and then order some parts.

LOL, did you put it into a nobsound chassis? What's the rotary switch?

i recycled the nobsound, parts of it live in this project but most of it became a cinemag Bal SE box.

the switch is a 24 step cheapie...I bought a couple just in case. Dave recommended these; he used to include them with the kit. I'm only using the last 14 steps of the switch unless I upgrade to the $400 unit

Man I've had the parts to make one of these for six months now, just been putting it off.

@Jh4db536 - what are those little clips at the end of the wire? I need to buy some.

the pins are gold plated female D-Sub pins. I bought a 200 pack off Amazon for this and other projects

not a fun build, I had this sitting around for a few months too. I would just build the switch up... cut all the wires, strip/tin, crimp/solder the pins, solder to switch, then patch everything like a terminal board. results are worth. For speakers, I don't find 14 steps that limiting.

And it’s done! Does what i wanted and i can’t detect much if any degradation with it in the path.
    Some obligatory pics:

Some room left over for activities. Transformers are Lundahl LL1690’s and the switch is an Elma 04 series. Used some gold plated ofc wire because why the f**k not(not that expensive). Gave each channel it’s own deck on the switch.
