Just curious what SBAF mostly uses.

You can check multiple if you personally use multiple but if you have one for the gf or family don’t count that.

Just lately I joined Spotify and now tend to go there rather than youtube when I think of some music I want to explore.

Spotify. I've used Deezer, Amazon, and Tidal but Spotify's UI and music recommendations tend to be on point.

I'll also buy music (digital or vinyl) if I really like it.

Currently Qobuz and Apple but my Qobuz sub expires in July so presuming Apple lossless works for my needs I will be going solely to Apple.

Genuinely trying to move over from Tidal to Qobuz over the last couple weeks-- it's going mediocrely.

I use tidal when they give me a month for $1 usd, Spotify to discover music, and I buy music every chance I get.

I don't stream at all. Files cds and rekkids for me. Even on the go with IEMs. I'd probably use qobuz if I did though. Would never support mqa.

I use Spotify. And to use Spotify easily offline on the go, I use the DRmare Spotify to MP3 Downloader to get the Spotify songs as local files. And then I can move the local Spotify music files to my portable devices for listening offline.

Apple Music. With a family plan, it is just easier for our Apple centric family. I’ve used Tidal in the past. Kinda lame UI, I’m not a hip hop guy, and I don’t like JZ much. With “Hi Rez” coming to Apple Music in June, in hopeful.

Tidal until my yearly subscription runs out in July then either Apple or Spotify if their lossless tier is competitive. I hate giving the latter money since they’re by far the most miserly when it comes to paying artists but Tidal with MQA is forcing my hand.

Youtube Music because of the conjoined premium subscription. I've used Tidal and Spotify in the past, I prefer spotify UI and collection to the other two, and Tidals placebo (personal take, I can't distinguish them in blind testing) over the others, but today I opt for local Flacs and rips if I want fancy lossless masters to feel it better.

About SQ, Qobuz is superb, in my opinion.

Just started a Qobuz trial as I cancelled Tidal the other day.

    The good:

    The sound

    The bad:

I can’t see hating myself enough to use their software.

    Next.

edit: Qobuz hi-res really is audibly better than Tidal (mconnect vs tidal connect) alas their software is so bad, ugh. Amazon music isn’t it either but it’s a 4 month free trial so whatever. I already know Apple won’t work because it’ll be AirPlay only so here’s hoping Spotify’s plan is great.

I might have mentioned that I recently subscribed to Spotify: my first real "streaming" service.

I have set the quality to the highest setting. A couple of times recently, though, I have compared the sound with the same music from my hdd (a collection of ripped CDs, ripped vinyl, and, erm, miscellaneous sources, saved as FLAC). In both cases, my own copy was greatly superior.

Boring to keep mentioning that I'm getting deaf. But relevant in the context that I can hear the difference.

Had Tidal, left because it didn't have a lot of the songs I listen to.

Oddly enough Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer tend to have the songs I want.

The cheapest and best quality at the moment is Apple Music, $4.99 a month with Unidays student pricing and lossless. Only downside is no lossless on Windows without workarounds such as Shairport.
