Yes, that's where its gone. That's why I'm excited about plywood horns and Crowe's stuff that could be DIY laser cut or printed with wood filament.

Full disclosure, I'm currently building horn speakers as an excuse for sexy woodwork that costs huge amounts of time and money :)

    Much

Westlake Audio has some interesting horn shapes too. This one makes me think duck cyclops...

    Awesome stuff.

About pic 2... I've heard speakers from that company whose name escapes me (M...?) and they have this remarkable ability to deliver stereo perception even as one walks around the room. And, whilst the pair I heard may have been modest in the range, and certainly cost more than my car was worth, they were well within single-digit-thousands-GBP if not $$$.

But the picture makes me shudder. This is what one should absolutely not do in a listening room! Just look at that glassware . All of it ringing and jiggling and dancing on the shelf to an extent that I'd bet is actually audible*!

Unless, of course, he's spent hours with little bits of bluetack (sticky putty stuff). Still, if I was wealthy, I'd keep my china/glass/etc ornaments in a different room to my hifi.

*As in, drowned out by the music, but still contributing unwanted noise

6BA82F03-F51E-4A2D-B73A-80ACDD5CCBE4.jpeg The novelty value is limited, after 100k plus pairs out there. But that means the units sold, and friends told friends. After some years with the 1b model, I have migrated to Vandersteen 2ci speakers. Today I added one 2wq subwoofer. This is my downstairs listening system room, with a fireplace, and access to good things like wine, or bourbon.

The sub looks new old stock. I am not sure that I can sell the idea of a second sub, maybe ever. Currently set at 89 for sensitivity with a Q of 2. You can tell that it’s working by unplugging it.

Picked up my first set of passives about a week ago. I am hoping to have speaker stand for them to sit on next week. Currently running them through and AVR I borrowed from a friend.

Yamaha NS-1000M and Emotiva Stealth 8 speakers behind them. Fed by Schiit Freya as a pre amp and an AVR for the Amp

Tom Sachs is more of a visual artist that uses speakers as his medium. Check out his horn

Certainly looks to me like some horn-checking is going on in that picture. But hey, I have a twisted mind.

Didn't really listen to them much as I didn't really have a place for them and parents wanted their garage back. Ended up parting them out. They were pretty cool though, but much bigger than I thought.
I did find out the altec a7 does fit in a subaru impreza hatchback though. Just barely...

I have no idea how this might sound, but it is aesthetically pleasing to me. I just looked up Engstrom pricing, and it's as crazy as Wilson's.
