    Hi,
I recently bought Dali Spektor 2 speakers and they came in today. Now I would like to connect (connect external speakers) those to my tv. Is it necessary to get a receiver or is it also possible to connect them directly to the tv?
    Thanks

Those speakers are passive, so you'll need an amplifier of some sort, be it just a speaker amp or receiver.

You'll need at least a power amp, which you could connect to the headphone out (be careful with volume management), or an integrated amp / preamp + power amp, or a DAC / preamp / amp connected to the TOSLINK out. Or if you don't yave a TOSLINK out, there are HDMI audio extractors and HDMI switches with ARC support and TOSLINK out.

For what it's worth, I was amazed by what the SMSL AD18 could do with the Spektor 1. Others prefer the Loxjie A30, which sounded a bit more sterile to me. If you get the AD18, make sure to get the version with a subwoofer output, just in case.

Small, cheap, has a remote, display, tone controls, EQ, Bluetooth... useful little machines.
