Rolling back site a few days.

The only PM I got was the hacker PMing me saying I goofed and my ass got banned.

It was pretty funny in a way.

Was it some mad objectivist intent on deleting the ASR thread, or some crazy subjectivist erasing measurements

It was Marv, but not our Marv.

Marv¹ was old beyond years in a terrible future that we will never know, now. Sweating away in his New Tejas lab buried deep under the burnt and dying earth where so many were buried, Marv¹ spent his last days tracking what went wrong, how It Happened.

Finally, his peripheral brain pinged with the final calculation: It all started with a shitpost on SBAF. That was the beat of a buttefly's wings that inexorably led to the hurricane of a civilization's end. With his last ergs of energy, Marv¹ set his lab afire to power the chronoic gate a final time--opening to the exact date and time where the hack would have its effect.

The changes made, the data erased, Marv¹ saved a future while destroying his own hateful past and present. In the last moments before his reality faded like a fist when you open your hand, he sent a message to a man who would never grow into the friend he would end a world with...and banned him.

If there had been anyone or anything to see, Marv¹'s smile was the last part of him to fade.

 

Why didn't Marv¹ go back further and make all us SBAF Friends powerful, healthy, and wealthy?! Marv¹ squandered that 'gateway' Damn him!

 

Schiity rumors (and SBAF talks about McDonald's) seems to be gone. Was it not reset to Monday?

 

Don't think the reset has taken place yet since content post-Tuesday is still available and the intro thread is still vanished.

 

So what's the planned date/time for the rollback?

 

Bummer. Can the important missing threads be merged in from the backup?

 

What an asinine amount of damage to inflict by a truly defective individual. May karma deliver something special for that person.

Again, my thanks to our moderators / admins who put in countless hours to keep the place running.

Hopefully most of the deleted threads may be recovered, however cross links to / from other posts may never index correctly again.
