    LOL, it happens. Y-axis range expansion (or X-axis pixel stretching) to make stuff look flatter. Jedi-mind trick used by Sennheiser on back of HD800 box ya know! Well, 1/2 octave averaging into bars helps a lot too.

    Are these a direct upgrade to the Hemp? It seems like they are better in most respects, but have a more traditional Grado tuning. I like my Hemp, but feel I'm missing out on some detail.

    I'd use it with an iFi Go Blu mostly, and my Jotunheim 2. I expect the Go Blu will be very good with it, but I don't think the Jot 2 will pair as well, but it's all I have.

    They do have more traditional "Grado" tuning compared to Hemp all things (pads) equal. Hemp are slightly behind with respect to fine detail. You are correct, best used straight fro Go Blu.
