Interesting, I'll upload them here later today when I get a chance. It's strange because I can still view them if I am logged in to google. It's only when I log out that they are not visible so it must be some sort of privacy or permissions setting that expires.

Probably some mechanism to prevent Google Photos from being a free commercial image server, as opposed to a personal/family-and-friends type of service.

Alright it took a while and I had to remove some images but they are posted now. Still going to be searching for an easier way to put images in posts though

@logscool. Seems whatever mod you used , measurements does not show much improvement unlike what I measured.

Wait and see if what I send to you Marv and OJ measures better. Letters are ready will be posted tomorrow.

Yeah I will also be quite interested to see the results but honestly even if the results that I am getting are more subtle than yours I think it still makes a subtle but definitely appreciated difference to the sound.

Yes, subjectively I am enjoying the mod.
@sorrodje Have you tried sealing the resonator on the back of the driver instead of on the front as I showed in my previous post? I would be interested to see your results.

Nope. Cuz it needs to unscrew the whole driver enclosure and I don't want to f**k it. My goal has always been to find something that mimic the HD800S. I'm not look for the best mod ever. So I think you method is probably really interesting but it's not what I'm after :)

I can agree there is no loss in getting rid of the HD800S...

    After listening to the HD800S,
It is my belief that the original HD800 is still superior...

    Why?
Because the HD800S , with its resonator, (for me) ruins the lower midrange by making it more forward and darker.

Some have already commented in the NYmeet it sounding "slower" ,
    And they preferred a tweaked/modded HD800 over the HD800S.

I have been away for a bit so missed all this action here..
So although I missed your first round testers,
I would like to be on your next list of the mod.
    Cheers.

Forgot to update the list :

    0. @purrin Sent
    0b. @OJneg Sent
    0c. @Tyll Hertsens Sent

IF Purrin's and OJ's measurements are OK then I'll send a pair of absorber to the above list :

    1. Frenchbat Received
    2. Logscool Sent
    3. M3ntal
    4. kevnin
    5. Joshmorr
    6. Wfojas
    7. MrTie
    8. Hifi01170
    9. KurtSvensson

    11. Serious.

@Maxx134 : If first testers are positive about the mod, I'll open a larger list for sure... I don't agree that much about the HD800S being inferior though. To be honest, I think Differences between HD800S and HD800 are small and between HD800S and HD800SD it's subtle to my ears. the SBAF Mod is IMO probably bigger departure from HD800/HD800S . I tried some ruliner mod myself and changes were different from what the SD absorber do. IMO and IME

    Resonator received today. Currently listening.

Very good work from Sorrodje. Two things of note compared to the shure olives :

    1. More efficient taming of the 6k peak. However it doesn't take away the bite of the hd800, and proper amping is still necessary to get the best of the hd800.

    2. Midrange is better, by quite a margin. I don't think the difference is huge FR-wise, but the SD mod is clearer while being more present. That's a very nice feature, as it keeps the air while bringing some body.

    3. Being clearer, the SD mod has better localization cues, hence soundstage.

Overall a double thumbs up for Sorrodje !

Resonator received. Will listen first then measure.

BTW this thread is in need of some serious bookmarking.

Those punches might come in handy if we want to start making them for people stateside. But no, I'm quite happy with the Resonator I was sent. I believe it is an improvement over the simple Ety foam. I'm not hearing much difference in the treble (Absorber and Cork seem to do more work there at this point) but the bass is stronger and more dynamic to my ear. Perhaps this is the benefit that the HD800S claims, although I'm still not sure what exactly is the mechanism for this change. But yeah, I like it.

Well...installed the Superdupont resonators yesterday. Did a BUNCH of measurements. I will post on InnerFidelity Friday, but I'll throw in a little spoiler here:

Measurement-wise it's nearly identical to the HD 800S, with the exception that it has less bass distortion than the 800S.

    f'ing good stuff, Sorrodje!!!

Good stuff @Tyll Hertsens. I can't wait to see your measurements. I'll probably be measuring and trying mine later today.
