If you don't let them out, electrons eventually get the zoomies inside the chassis. Newbie gear owners think this is wonderful and hilarious the first few times. Experienced gear owners realize that it is healthier to let their electrons "off leash" every once in a while, for the sake of keeping the chassis clean and without chaos.

makes sense since Mil is 4x, which was also a bit of news. never looked before.

    With Yggdrasil
"Input Capability: up to 24/192 for all inputs"

(sorry not a MIL topic below)

in the case of the LIM 8x:
presuming the built-in filter is performing the "remaining 3-4x" when HQPlayer is doing the initial 4x (44.1 --> 176.4 or 192)
and thus the LIM built in filter can not be entirely bypassed by HQPlayer feeding it.
HQPlayer didn't appear to change a "a lot" with Yggdrasil A2 in the short amount of time I tried them together.

Unless I'm mistaken, Yggdrasil A1/A2 and Gungnir A1/A2 are also 8X so it makes me wonder if everyone who are up sampling in HQPlayer (or Roon, or...) know they are listening to HQPlayer + megacombo...

Well, that's true as long as you're not hairy and shirtless for the entirety of the hours the DAC is being forced into servitude, unlike some Friends/Wookies we may know. Those of us with less than a forest of body hair may choose to keep the lid on, regardless.

    Paging @YMO ...
How has your shirtlessness affected the performance of your dacs?

I don’t have Yggdrasil but Bifrost2 also has 8x upsampling but feeding 176/192Khz from Hqplayer does 4x upsampling using filter and noise shaping of your choice and rest 2x using Schiit’s upsampling and it does have an impact on sound for better or worse based on user’s preference.

This is such an important point. Most analyzer measurements utilize stationary signals with high averaging, as you mentioned. Dynamic measurements currently available are limited. Transient performance, accuracy in both level and time, mapped over a large dynamic range would provide useful insights.

Guys, I've had Yggdrasil OG for almost 2 years. I ordered MIL and LIM september last year. LIM has just got delivered. I'm pretty sure after 1 day of listening that original OG is my favorite. That means I'll be selling both LIM and MIL. I'm based in EU Poland. Anyone interested to get it without all the customs trouble (import from US) ping me on priva
