    JAR800 & JAR800S arrived safely.
I shouldn't have opened the box. I have a long list of tasks in the lab queue and this is such a distraction:
    Spring2 KTE -> Piety -> JAR800S
It's times like this I wish there were 48 hrs in a day.

Usually I am at the end of these loaner tours due to the extra time necessary to make measurements. Though I am rushing these through, it may take another week or so. I have the special situation of having all the following variants of HD800 on hand for measurements and listening:

    1) HD800 original from first years of production
    2) HD800S
    3) HD8XX
    4) HD800-Jmod
    5) HD800-JAR
    6) HD800S-JAR

These are being measured in rapid succession on the same physical setup with the same analyzer settings and careful placement on the flat plate coupler to achieve best differential measurements.

I hope to finish measurements today on the ARTA / RME / ACO 7052 system.
Next week will see Klippel / ACO 7052 system measurements if corporate doesn't ask for a rush job.

Update: two weeks lost progress thanks to winter storm disrupting lab network and corporate year-end rush.
For what it's worth, I have been enjoying the HD800-JAR to the point it is nearly as beloved as my HD800-Jmod.

    Should be there Thursday.
Data collection complete but there are still analysis screen shots to create before posting.

As the 800s are your personal favorite JAR Sennheiser series, I am definitely IN if there's room!

Edit: Oop, just realized this is an old thread, no need to jam me in if it's already en route across the country (but would definitely love to hear these)!

    hello,
i am having some difficulty with the headband pad (Senn part # 534406) staying attached to the headphones. it stays in place while the cans are on my head, but seems to want to disconnect when i take them off.
am i missing something? do i use pliers to snap them on? (really don't like this idea.) or are my old, cold fingers just not strong enough for modern German engineering?
    help!

They can be a little tough to properly click into place, make sure you use your fingers to line up the black clips on the headband metal side to the grooves of the headband. Push in firmly and make sure to hear the clicks. No need for pliers!

I don't think pliers are warranted. Just make a salt pentagram on the floor, light candles at the tip of each point of the pentagram, whisper an ancient prayer to Asmodeus, and request that the headphones be healed. Bing bang boom and you're good to go. On to the next victi... I mean person.
