I miss the old one :(

Anyway, ended up here tonight : https://www.revolvermag.com/music/25-best-albums-2021
Strikes me as jumping the gun a little (though I don't know what else is due out this year). They picked Gojira's Fortitude as number 1, ain't gonna argue with that, but these ones were the other standouts to me, mostly that I had not heard of before.

Slaughter to Prevail - Kostolom : kind of Russian Slipknot. Sick.

Pupil Slicer - Mirrors : I mean they sound like you would think a band named 'Pupil Slicer' would, except there's... I dunno, maybe a bit more musicality than you usually get out of something this aggressive? Works for me anyway.

Every Time I Die - Radical : I did listen to this when it released a while back, it's great.

Turnstile - Glow : I'm not good with genres. Hardcore punk? Cool though.

This is a fun listen. Play this album as a whole piece. It reminds me of the adventurous Prog and Metal albums from the 70-ties and 80-ties and it is still a banger. This is good.

One of those songs that defies everything that came before. ELP was unique.

Christmas music. Early Megadeath was special.

Ayam by Disillusion should have been on my AOTY list for 2022, truly excellent progressive/death metal

found another pretty good deathcore band, just two dudes, one in Finland one in Minnesota

Last year Shadow of Intent's Elegy was one of my most disappointing releases of the year, this is what that shoulda been. The beginning of the opening track reminds me a lot of early Soreption in tone and production

Totally unrelated to the quality of the music, but who TF designs the font for these current generation metal bands? You can't even read what the band's name is! Someone thought that was a swell idea...
