Hows that going? They stopped because of the war and such and it was rumored that they moved somewhere else?

Yep, but now it seems that the development of that game is back on the right track and its launch should be in 2023.

I really liked this one. Beautiful graphics & artistic styling. Also a lots of fun playing as a cat. If you happen to be a cat person who likes scifi stories in dystopian settings, this is a must-have for you. Works for other people too, I reckon.

Got Elden Ring a few weeks ago but have been busy and haven't been able to sink that much time into the game. Finally made it to the castle, did most of it so far, make it down to the bottom and find the tree spirit... get destroyed... muh runes

On a different note... I'm enjoying the game so far... but the game isn't the video game version of crack I was expecting. Controls and camera feel awkward too but maybe it's b/c I'm using a keyboard and not a controller? Do I just need to progress further before it gets better? I don't think it's a difficulty thing either - I actually enjoyed the last "hard game" I played almost 10 years ago in Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 on original xbox and xbox 360 although I haven't tried nor do I have interest in the Dark Souls series.

Playing a Soulsborne game with a mouse and keyboard seems... like it'd detract from the experience, yeah. And from what I can tell a lot of what people love about these games and ER specifically is more the sense of exploration and thrill of uncovering X and Y with the combat being its own thing altogether.

Haven't played ER yet myself (just background watched a few people play it while working on crud) but I played a lot of Armored Core on the PS1&2 years ago and have DS3 on a backburner somewhere-- FWIW FromSoft combat feels more like it's a weird sorta rhythm game where you have to learn how to move. I think it's fun.

Elden Ring was really tough for me. Just like any other Souls games. The enemies could get real barbaric and merciless. But overall really well done. Loved the exploration side, which was missing with the previous Souls.

I thought the controls were spot on. Problem was more on my side. Just needed to git good.

Please use a controller. I was an adamant KB/M gamer until I played Dark Souls 3, before that only really using controller for side scrollers and racing games. I couldn't get past the first boss in DS3 using keyboard and mouse, but after maybe 10 deaths I busted out my Xbox controller and it was like Keanu in the matrix after he learns "Kung Fu."

Haven't kept up with this thread til now but I thought I'd just throw it out there that Dead Cells has taken up many of my waking hours for a few months now. I'm actually not as active in online forums because I f'ing just do run after run on Dead Cells and simply never tire of it.

I've got to a weird point though. I'm at 5 boss cells somehow, but can only comfortably play through at 3 boss cells. 4 is harder now, and 5 seems impossible. Just f'ing brutal. So I normally play at 3 and enjoy myself rather than at 4 or 5 and hate life. Maybe I'll get there someday, or maybe the game will beat me rather than me beating the game.

This game is a beast and I won't even be ashamed if I decide it beat me. It's been a lot of fun.

Breath of the Wild justified the Switch for me years ago. Tears of the Kingdom is a an incredible bonus.

I thought BotW was good but frustrating. TotK fixes every mistake and adds so many systems that entire games are built around and somehow makes it all work together. It’s a f'ing triumph and insanely fun

I didn't like Botw all that much as the "break equipment" mechanic was just a cheap way to prolong the game. It was a good game but not great IMHO. Hope they fix that on the new game or not rely on it as much. I trust @zerodeefex gaming suggestions so going to go pick up new zelda now.

basically the weapon durability is still there but the fusion mechanic makes it somehow not really annoying at all.

Plus, the mix of systems allows you to do crazy shit like use a bunch of wheels and planks to make traps to kill a Hinox. I’m early in the game and I have approached each group of enemies with totally different tactics. You’re only limited by your imagination with regard to how you approach challenges.

I have a buddy playing and we compare notes when we’ve done a similar challenge or killed a similar hard enemy. We’re both early on but it’s amazing to see how differently we approached the same situation.
