Flyying Colours "Do You Feel the Same?" from their latest album "You May Never Know" released a few weeks ago.

    [Genre(s): Indie Rock, Shoegaze]

Their album is very impressive. All killer, no filler.

This track keeps coming across my radio and streaming services, and I f'ing love it.

For a bit of history, Robert Forster is an indie rocker who has been a huge part of the Australian music scene for almost 50 years. The pedigree really lets him sell this ultra-cool-dorky-dad thing, and makes the stories in the music completely believable.

For Forster in his heyday, the Great Australian Albums episode on his band The Go-Betweens' '16 Lovers Lane' is a good watch:

Sadly The Go-Betweens never really got much traction during the years they were operating, even in Australia. Now, though, they're local heroes - even having a big new bridge named after them in their home town of Brisbane.

Other vids in the same series are notable too, particularly the ones on The Triffids' 'Born Sandy Devotional' and on The Saints' '(I'm) Stranded'. Crowded House's 'Woodface' is in there too, but I'm compelled to point out that Crowded House is a New Zealand band that the Aussies, as so often, try to claim (but OTOH, we let them have Russel Crowe...).

Yeah, the Go Betweens were never hugely popular, and they disappeared for over a decade..... but I think there's a good case to be made that their influence is everywhere. You can see their effect on a lot of the bands I liked as a teenager in the 90's.

Thanks for the Great Australian Albums link, I'll definitely watch that!

Too bad the sound quality of "Oceans Apart" didn't match the quality of their songwriting on that album.

My main test track for how keyboards sound in my system. It ranges from godlike to unlistenable. I love how it sounds on MB Bifrost 1 with Audioengine 6 speakers (current).

I love a goofy-ass 80's sounding keyboard, almost reminds me of the saxpophone-synthesizer from T-Square!

Not sure why but this reminds me a lot of the Ace Combat 5 arcade music

Finally listening to Metheny's first album with Jaco and I'm loving it! Pat has got a similar thing to Jaco where he can jump all over the guitar and still tie things together and form a cohesive melody. I like the soundscapes quite a lot and can't wait to get deeper into his crazy guitar playing! Too bad 'Zero Tolerance for Silence' isn't on spotify, maybe Tidal has it? I gotta start investing in music again instead of streaming everything so I'm not at the whim of some dumb recording company keeping things to themselves.
