    Thanks @Slade01!
This was a comparison I was waiting for. Two fantastic mid-price offers...
Did you try both sets of pads with the Verum 2?

@Slade01 Thanks for your detailed impressions.
Indeed , speaker like presentation was made on purpose.

That's exactly what I wanted to do.

That's another aspect I was working on a lot of time. Verum 2 has extremely thin membrane : 2um mylar + 0.5 um silver.
Verum 1 in comparison has 12 um mylar + 8um aluminum. Combination of one wide trace (like in Susvara), multiple thin magnets (11 per side) allow to control membrane as a single entity and produce such level of sound, especially in treble region.

As for comfort - this is a pre-release unit and it's in fact quite heavy. It has lots of thick 3d printed parts made from heavy plastic. If i'd have a help from community i'll make moulds and will be able to lower weight for around 30 grams.
And thanks for notice of a new suspension system. It really distributes weight well and hot spot is simple non-existent.

I actually did not try both sets of pads. Once I discovered that the pads that were left on were the vented pads for bass, I did not switch to the non vented ones. I did not want to lessen the effect of the punch/slam of the Verum 2 any further than what I was hearing.

Just got them today and can already tell that these hit the mark. Great technical capabilities, comfortable (less so with glasses), and no immediate impulse to want to mod them. Going to spend a few days trying different amps /pads etc but they are a win for me..dB

@dBel84 How do they compare with the magneto-pocalypse V1 you repaired for me?

That requires me to recall just how good your pair was which I think may have been technically more adept with tighter more accurate bass.

I like what I am hearing but the upper mids are a tad forward and although bass slams beautifully it has a little more give. Not unpleasant, not boomy or bloomy.

Edit. This might be a pad thing. I have the ported pads on as it arrived, I will try the sealed pads too.

Well they continued to live up to their great performance, the bass tonality did not change much with the pad swap but did seem to tighten it up a little. (I am not a bass head but I do like bass to be present). This is a well put together headphone, that driver is quite spectacular to see when you pad swap, reminds me of the LCDR. I wasn't a huge fan of the mother of pearl in the pictures but they look great in person.

A worthy successor to an already great sounding debut..dB

    Hello everyone!)
Right now i can buy the Verum One at a good price, but i'm wondering: is it truly better to wait and buy the secondary version, or it's ok to buy the first one? Is there any "two times better" feelings from the V2?

    @Garuspik
Do you know the approximate date when we will be able to order it on a kickstarter or buy directly from you?

    Thank you!

Buy Verum One now and enjoy it now. But Verum 2 later and have the difficult choice of selling Verum 1 and keeping it (because it's still good and in some respects different from Verum 2)

Let me show what I mean when I'm saying about innovations in weight distribution of Verum 2 headband on same person.

I plan to launch campaign on 1st of May.

    Here is how driver looks:

    membrane.jpg

    >95% is conductive silver trace. Big working zone with minimal idle areas.

Any adjustments you still plan on doing? Are they sound based? Aesthetic? Functional?

Design is final, headband is final. Drivers and magnetic system are final. And I really think i've done everything on a high level.
I can finetune damping and pads after listening to community. But to make any actions - i need more impressions.

I need to do a bunch more listening with the loaner, but at a brief listen, if a target price of < $500 - you haven't done much wrong.
