Spiral Dot > Spin Fit for the Andromeda IMO. The Spin Fit has a narrow bore vs. all the included CA tips and Spiral Dots having a wide bore.

Never heard the Andromeda but do own the k10ua. It uses the same drivers as the custom k10u but apparently sounds less bassy due to the different fit. For reference I think the sound of the er4s with deep insertion is just about perfect out of a Woo Audio WA8 which gIves it a nice sub-bass lift.

Tbh my first take on the k10ua out of a QP1R was that it sounded great, but were right on the edge if being too bassy for me. Also it did have a smoothing effect that made everything sound good. However after some tip rolling and change to a Norne Audio cable my impression has changed a lot. The k10ua now sounds a lot more linear and detailed to me although it still remains an overall warm earphone. Basically it was like tilting the response of the WA8 enhanced er4s slightly around a point in the midrange (up in the bass, down in the treble). Definitely very close sounding to my preference signature of speakers in a room.

My point is I really don't think you can go wrong with tip rolling on a k10ua if you are OK with a warm, organic signature. Although the stock k10 cable is good a cable change may allow further fine tuning.

Impressions from users who have compared both k10 and Andromeda suggest that Andromeda plays in the same league, is a bit brighter, but slightly less airy overall. Maybe that can be modified by tip rolling as well. Plus it is quite a bit cheaper than the k10 without even factoring in the after market cable ...

At this level I think it's more a matter of preferences than ultimate performance. Even though I love my k10ua, if I was deciding now I would probably start with the Andromeda. At the very least suggestions are that it gets close to the k10 at a much lower price and if some are to be believed it may be better overall if you prefer a more neutral signature. I wish both were a lot cheaper though!

if you want a "CIEM" on an IEM, you can always get a custom tip third-party or diy.

The door is closing on the Noble sale, and I'm not compelled. Alea iacta est...Andromeda it will be. Thanks for the input!
