Not sure I would call these rare. While I like mine, they are pretty easy to get.

    Wanted to address some concerns:

No, we don't hate Head-Fi'ers. If Jude wanted to come to our meet, that would be dandy. We are not going to bite the heads off of "randos", or tar and feather them at the meet. The reason we have "randos" is because this place is a meritocracy and we prefer to keep the noise down. Also, please keep in mind that members here are also members of HF. There is 90% intersection. I was silently banned at HF, so that's why I no longer post there.

No person who isn't a member here should be afraid of going to this meet. I don't care if you are best buddies with Jude, you are welcome to come. We do not refer to Head-Fi as the "other site" or the "site that cannot be mentioned". We do not delete links to HF. You are free to repost content here on HF. So please, do not feel uncomfortable. The members here are super duper friendly and helpful, especially in real-life.

That being said, spots are limited. From past meets, we know that can get 300+ people, but we don't want to.

I plan to attend the meet if I can score some cheap ticket to SoCal.

Quick tip before I get into my questions, check out http://skyscanner.com for cheap airfare tickets.

I was planning on taking a red eye flight from BWI to LAX. Would anyone wanna hang out with me and see some sights on late Friday into the afternoon? I'm from the east coast and have never been this far west so I wanna get the most out of my experience as I can. Shoot me a pm or reply here if this sounds like something you would be interested in.

What kind of source should I be bringing to have for my setup and what kind of source should I bring to listen to other people's setups? I would imagine a laptop would be fine for my setup but would my smartphone and or a DAP like a Sansa fuse work?

Side note: I plan on bringing my setup which consists of a Bottle head Crack + speedball, Bimbay and my HD650M.

Doesn't look like my China trip is happening so I'll lug all my gear over. Probably the last time I'll lug my Krell EVO 302e over before it's permanently part of a speaker rig.

For all you preamp agnostics, you can hear the amazing differences an all silver transformer volume control adds to the system.

What do you drive with them right now, and what preamp do you use? I've never heard them, was curious a s to their sonic signatures.

Booking my flight tonight. I can't wait. I might alternate between manning the LH table and walking around. It's been too long since I've seen so many of you.

I have no floorstanding speakers ATM. Bought a house no long ago but haven't remodeled nor live there yet so no room for speakers. I drive my HE-6 with the Krell EVO now. I'm using a Bent Audio NOH with silver S&B TX-102 mk3 transformer volume control. If you were to buy the same transformers now, it would easily cost 3-4k a pair. This preamp is completely motorized so I can use a remote too! I don't think I'll ever need to upgrade it as I'll have to spend 10x more to beat the performance. Truly a great piece of gear for me.

Cool. Look forward to listening to them, if you do haul them down to the meet. I don't really know enough about the HE-6, but that's a pretty powerful amp.

I got my ticket and can't wait to attend this show even though I'm new to this community and a long time headfi member. As an avid fan / hobbyist of personal audio I try to go to as many shows as possible and I've always left these meets in a good mood meeting with nice and interesting folks. Hope this time it won't be different. Why would anyone be afraid to attend a headphone show is beyond me. I'm looking forward to check some good gears I've never heard yet and meet with like-minded people! Peter

    A question for everyone.

@velvetx kindly offered me a ride to get to this meet! I am trying to gauge the interest/feasibility of bringing down my speaker rig as I don't have anymore headphones.

Are people interested in me bringing down my Omega Super Alnicos or some DIY single driver stuff I have been working on? The rest of the rig is a Sonic Frontiers SFD 2 MKII and am currently cycling through a couple DIY amps. Let me know if anyone is interested in me bringing down the rig or any part of it. I also don't know if @Marvey if the speaker room is spoken for.

Could anyone give me a rough estimate of how much a 1 bedroom will cost for friday night? If there's anyone who needs a room mate, we can probably split a 2 bedroom? I'm at work right now, so I can't really give them a call.

Plane tickets from NY to LA is pretty cheap right now so I'll likely book my ticket later today. I'm not sure what I could bring since most of my stuff is schiit that everyone has already. Maybe I can stuff my overnight sensations into my luggage and bring those over?
