Would love to go, but Boston is a bit far from upstate NY.

Hey Nor'easters! Ish moved away which borked early fall meet. Anyone interested in meeting up before the likely December meet in Nashua? Anyone interested mid November?

Biggest problem I see is a location. I can provide one in Maine, but my connections down south are lacking. Anyone know of a spot?

Hopefully I'll be coming closer next year if I get into university of Hartford.

I can get myself to either Maine or Nashua, although Nashua is bit easier.

Josh, what's this about Nashua in December? Did Fidelis say that would do it again? I've been monitoring Head-Fi but haven't seen anything there yet.

I haven't seen anything about fidelis either, I thought it was a yearly thing. Maybe someone just needs to prod the head-fi crowd. That hero can be Ryan. I actually enjoyed most of that crowd, hell it's where I met you dudes.

Kevin's house was awesome last time, just feel guilty about intruding. If your up for another invasion and if it's easier for Ryan, someone want to pick a weekend day before Thanksgiving. I'm pretty free whenever.

@batriq where you at you mad Jordanian?!?!

LOL ... I've been totally swamped with work. Someone lost their mind and decided I should start managing a few people o_O

I've been due for a trip to the Boston office for a while, so I'll try to combine that with a meet. Last time the family was away so it was easier to take off for the day!

OT, but speaking of mad Jordanians, check out this awesome recent interview: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/60-minutes-king-abudallah-jordan-amid-crisis/

@JoshMorr, don't worry about intruding mate. You guys are always welcome.

If nothing else seems feasible, let's hash out some dates and I'll get some steaks organized again :)

I like medium rare, just so you know.

But I probably can't make it out there, 6 hour drive.
Next year will be better if I'm in Hartford Connecticut.

Looking at the calander it would be either weekends of Nov 12-13 or 19-20. Saturdays work slightly better, but if anyone preferred Sundays I could do that as well.

    I could do --

    Oct 21st - 23rd
    Oct 28th - 30th
Nov 25th - 27th (although this is Thanksgiving weekend so I doubt that'll work for anyone)
    Dec 9th - 11th

... so basically the only weekends I can't do are the ones Josh suggested. :p I promise it isn't because of your tube amps.

I can also look into hosting a meet at my place in Waltham (02453) or at Brandeis University. I can normally get space there on weekends, esp. on Saturday's since the school basically closes for shabbat.

To answer Ryan as slowly as possible.....

Im out of town for the 2 Oct dates

Both of the other dates work for me. December might be nice if people have Thanksgiving plans and Fidilis isnt doing anything around then.

I just posted a thread on HF trying to see if we can get a big meet happening sometime this winter. Was thinking about something similair to last winter's Nashua meet at Fidilis. @porkfriedpork mentioned that Natural Sound in Framingham MA has a Utopia, so maybe I will ping them to see if they are interested in hosting / letting me finally hear the Utopia. Wouldn't mind some of the big guys crawling out from the woodwork with their top of the line gear (like Skullguise).

We will make a SBAF meet work again in the future, dates didnt seem to work out this time of year.

There isn't a ton of space at Natural Sound, at least on the main floor. I'm not sure what's upstairs.
The ground floor is densely packed with awesome gear. Natural sound is a converted house.

Natural Sound is the worst. They're a bunch of crotchety old men that think they know everything and only care about you as a customer if you're a big spender. I'll never go there again.

If you want to host a meet at a real shop anywhere in the Greater Boston area, the only real choice is Goodwin's High End in Waltham. They at least have space and are not usually open Saturdays (I think), so a meet then would at least be feasible.

I never noticed Goodwin's, is it new? I have to get down there.
Moody street would be a great place for a meet due to the prevalence of fine drinking establishments.

Nope, they've been around for a long time. 1995 in the current location.

Goodwin's was founded in 1977 by Alan Goodwin at 33 Newbury St. in Boston. The showroom was set up to showcase the finest in high end audio by appointment. In 1978 a high end recording system was procured in order to have the ultimate reference possible: live master tapes. When you have the opportunity to go and hear a live acoustical event, then record it and play it back over the finest system possible, it is a tremendously powerful reference tool. With the reference of live music, judgments as to the accuracy and musicality of playback systems can be made far better.

Over the years the business grew and moved first to Harvard Square in Cambridge, subsequently to Brookline*. In 1995 the current Goodwin's High End location was opened at 899 Main St. in Waltham. This is the largest high end facility in New England. But more importantly, both clients and people in the audio industry consider it to be one of the finest demonstration facilities in the country from a technical point of view.

(Click here for a longer, more detailed history.)

*A store in Brookline which Alan originally founded bore the Goodwin name for a number of years after his departure. That store has since been renamed to avoid confusion. Alan is no longer associated with it in any way.

I stand corrected on the open-Saturday issue: http://www.goodwinshighend.com/contact.htm
