Yeah man. Listening to Ray Brown Trio - Soular Energy and it's so f'ing good rn. No point in getting stuck listening to gear if you can't relax and listen to music.

Marv’s comment that the Yggdrasil A2 board is as big of a difference from the A1 as the A1 is from a Modi Multibit, and then adding that since we’re talking about good DACs that’s actually quite a small jump, was a good reminder that for comparison purposes we tend to play up differences that I know I cannot always fully hear.

I’d rather enjoy great music on well chosen budget gear than worry about how much better it might sound on a rig I can’t afford anyway.

That being said I’m currently listening to Marillion on my ZX2 with Andros so I’m not exactly slumming it.

Honestly, at least 2/3rds of the music I listen to doesn't benefit a whole lot from gear upgrades anyway.

Given the nature of my job and life, I'm back to 99% listening on Andromeda + ZX2 and I can't complain.

For many decades, I figured if I had a system on which I could enjoy both 'Kink Kronikles' (unfortunate sound) and 'Uncle Meat' (out of this world sound) LPs I was in a sweet spot as far as equipment went. That simple rule of thumb served me well. And I bought a ton of music.

A lot of people say we care more about gear than music. However I am not so sure the average person cares more about music when they just listen at the gym or in the background to distract them from whatever drudgery they are experiencing.
