I’ve been suffering from sinus problems for years. My right nose gets plugged up worse than my left which prevents airflow to the right Eustachian tube. The result is a lopsided soundstage with 60% of the sound coming from my left ear. Makes headphones almost unlistenable.

I get the problem a couple of times a year. Have experienced what you described a few times. This morning the HD800’s were like spikes in my ears after two songs. Using 600’s. No problems thankfully. @Thelceman93 my wife suffered for years with sinus infections, antibiotics etc. Finally had surgery. Relief.

I’m thinking of surgery as well. Glad it worked for your wife. Antibiotics have helped a bit but the problem persists. I’m good at ignoring physical discomfort so it’s sort of stupid that my hobby is the real motivation behind getting it sorted out. Priorities.

What motivated my wife was a visit to an ENT who did a CT scan. The infection was under her brain case. The doctor said it could move into her brain. 2 weeks later she had surgery. She is pain free and a much happier person. She still doesn’t like headphones. :)

Very interesting observation @TheIceman93 and sorry to hear about all of the suffering all around. I’ve seen some crazy crap come out during root-rootering by ENTs.

Funny. That’s what my wife’s ENT called it. Roto-rootering! :) Appearently with chronic sinusitis you can get bacterial mats growing up there. Sounds lovely. Glad I was in the waiting room.

Sinusitus has historically slammed me for a week at a time, once or twice a year. One more reason to be happy about moving to SoCal where I haven't been hit with them yet.

@BillOhio The Spring will be the test. Can’t remember when you moved here. When I moved North I was was spared of allergies and sinus issues for 4 yrs. Then I moved back to Sactown. But if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have met my incredible wife of 32 years. Worth it.

I've only been in SoCal a few months but it was always the change in season that hammered me. Am hoping that with LA never getting cold that I'll be OK. Congrats on 32 years!

Thanks. Hope SoCal agrees with your mind and body. Never gets cold? It drops into the 40’s sometimes. :) Oh thanks. Seems like 6 years most of the time.
