    It definitely is. It's a wood base, 2 laser cut pieces, and some assorted hardware. Lots easier for a n00b like me than a full metal enclosure.

    Nice! Im way behind on my build. I like how the linear supply is far bigger then the amp.

    Any comment on how it sounds compared to the Crown it's stacked on?

    @Cspirou My system is bi-amped (crown for lows, 7297 for highs), so it'd take some fiddling to compare the two and I haven't had a chance to try that yet. The 7297 has a fair bit of (reasonably inoffensive) hiss and I'm not sure what that comes from. I did get a second amp board and I think I'll give that the same component upgrade to see if it also has hiss.

    I noticed hiss with the lm1875 gainclone I built. Ill see what I hear with the 7297 when i finish
