Congrats! I have a Basic IIIa, Prime IIa and Progeny, but never got a chance to hear the Gen V. If it bears family resemblance you’re in for quite the treat.
@RiddleyWalker I also had a Prime II-A, and a Basic-IIIa, both were amazing dacs. I absolutely loved them.
Basic III-A really took what the prime did tonally and staged it more naturally and put some more detail forward.
Hopefully the Gen V-A can pull more from those audio files.

@Gofspar I can't help but find myself gravitating toward the Prime IIa, oddly enough. The Prime IIa has something going on with the subbass that I haven't heard on any other DAC other than the Progeny, it rumbles so hard. It must have something to do with the PCM 67 "combination" DS/multibit chip used and Theta's implementation.
Please let us know your thoughts on the Gen V once you get some time with it!
